Changing difficulty hard-easy-hard??.

Hey guys. I started this game on hard and I'm quite a far way through it. But I haven't played it for about a year. So struggling to get back into it on hard. Anyone know if I can change the difficulty to easy, then take it back to hard on the final boss and still pop the hard achievement and brass balls?

I know it works if you go from easy to hard... But does easy, hard, easy still work?

Why would you want to keep changing the difficulty?

When you change your difficulty to easy it says it inflicts your achievements, so it's no option I suppose
