As title says i just got this game for xmas with all the dlcs with it.
Ive played fallout 3 before. What i want to know is what combination of special skill points should i take at the start of the game to have the best outcome?

Depends entirely on how you like to play the game. If I were you I would check out the Fallout Wiki, you'll find pretty much everything you need to know there.

I like to have Lockpicking and Banter, but the rest is up to you. It really does depend on how you like to play the game, and which types of weapons you like to use etc.

![]() I put 7 into luck for the "Getting banned from the Casinos" achieve + Naughty Nightwear(from Mick&Ralphs) which gives 1+ to luck. There is a pair of sunglasses that also give +1 luck, but they require liked with Caesar's Legion. The glasses can be found in Legion's safehouse, key to unlock safehouse is given by Caesar's right hand-man or something. 7 to Intelligence, some intelligence speech checks appear along the way but I don't remember if they give any exp. I forgot what other special I put the last point into. I played on hardcore very easy and tagged non-combat skills, science, speech & lockpick. The repair skill is also quite handy, a nice perk at 90 repair & level 14. Then I would just distribute points evenly into all other non-combat skills as I leveled up. I took the comprehension perk for the extra skill point from reading the skill books, 1 extra point per book. The Fallout wiki says there's like 52 skill books in the vanilla F:NV and more books to be found with the dlcs. So I guess 52 or more bonus skill points is pretty good, if you feel like searching for all the books :P. Saving before talking to unique npcs is a good idea too, if you find a speech check and fail it you can load the previous save & read a speech magazine or put on some speech + clothes. ![]() Oh, and some speech checks can be attempted again on certain npcs.
