Not Understanding Quick Combo for trial

I was using Asuka in trial mode and when I made it to number 16. I got stuck for quite sometime.


Suddenly Dan popped up and told me he can use Preset 4 and finish any trial he wants or something like that I don't remember word for word. Then he told me to go check it out.

I went to the quick combo menu and added Preset 4 to my II spot and went back into the trial. By using said preset it automatically did the trial for me.

However on Stage 17 the preset was still doing the set-up for 16.

Do I need to keep sucking on trials to get them to switch to automatic completion or was that a one time thing or.......


Basically what I'm asking how did I mange to get a preset for a trial completion?

You probably have to keep doing 17 until he pops up and tells you which preset to use.

Asuka's preset 4 is simply trial 16, which he popped up to tell you. Note that not all trials have presets. If a trial requires 3 bars, you know it won't have one since it would be impossible to activate since it would cost 4 bars.

Besides, you should really try to do it manually since it kinda defeats the purpose to use quick combos. Unless you're only doing it for the achi, in which case you could simply do the most basic trials for all characters.

Exactly What This Guy Said ^ 3 New Preset Combos were Added, And they take the form of certain Trials, If The trial your stuck on Has a Quick combo Tied to it, Dan Shows up And tells you, But You really should try your best to do the trial, Not only will You feel more accomplished, But you will Most likely Improve your Ability to Do combos, and Learn the character
