Yeah I've been both on PC and Xbox. I have to say I like Xbox because it's easier to work with but PC has great advanages. Only down side I see most of the time is most games on PC are on steam and you really don't own any of the games on there, you're just hold them until you account gets screwed.

BIG OLE BITCH ALERT:
Shot myself up with a Fireproof syringe just as a Pyro dude rounded a corner and spent the next 30 seconds running about with my arms on fire, absorbing no damage but with the ability to do sod all else. Enemies are pretty dumb. I blew my cover right at the start of a late mission, hid behind something and everyone ran right for my, around the corner and into my shotgun range. Spastics. Non-marked enemies appearing on your mini-map was pretty dumb. Why should I get that advantage? That's what the Enhanced Perception syringe is there for. Just finished it and didn't really dig the ending, would've preferred another QT battle to be honest. Those were pretty well done. If people were bitching about Mass Effect 3's 'pick a colour' ending surely the 'pick a trigger' conclusion here was worse. Too much money: There was too much money. Apart from the maps and the signature weapons there wasn't any 'large' purchases. i.e. Ammo replenishment should have cost more, less ammo dumps to refill your arsenal for free later on in the game to encourage you to use all 4 weapon slots, etc. Too many free weapons. Hell why were they even free? Radio towers simply unlocking the option to purchase them would've been fine. Loot Takedown, Loot More Money and Sell Items for More were the last 3 of my tattoos for what it's worth. In the Charlie (Stoner) rescue mission when you're on the cliff and looking through the camera the entire scene is static apart from the helicopter. Literally nothing else moves, not even the water. The credits background doesn't need to be static either. (Minus a million stars...) The lipsync was bargin basement level at some points. It matched the words yes, but it looked like the mouth was jumping between 3 preset shapes instead of moving like a typical mouth (which to be fair, was present for most of the game. ME3 couldn't even get the mouths to match the words FFS.) Man Ubisoft love them a long credit sequence. Some of those abilities were utterly pointless. Zipline Gunner and Dual Death From Below I'm looking at you. Not one instance where they were a valid option. You hurt yourself after falling a rather laughable distance sometimes, especially for an extreme sports enthusiast. Which leads nicely to health syringes vs. natural healing. Why was there no option to choose between these? When out of battle and walking/jumping/falling/getting mauled at my leisure, why can't I just use the natural, slower heal instead of wasting a perfectly good needle which'll be better used when I get caught in a gun fight? I got the special edition with Monkey Business missions and was reminded to TALK TO HURK whenever I wasn't in the middle of a mission. Clingy. Towards the end with the Radio Towers there were a few that demanded jumping onto broken bits of platform around the perimeter of the tower. Well Brody got the wrong idea and vaulted over a segment and threw himself to death one day. He got better. Checkpoints are fucking stupid in some circumstances. died halfway through Black Gold and started with 2/4 sites left instead of going back to the beginning of the mission. When you get the Have I Told You? cheevo for getting your stuff out of the locker I was instantly rumbled by a dog and killed by a heavy. Can I re-do that bit? NO. I got my stuff out of the locker, so good enough, next mission, as far as the developers were concerned. Ditto those Wanted: Dead missions. Stuck right into the centre and knifed the leader with the intention of a Grenade Takedown to allow me to escape. It didn't work, I got killed, but once again that was considered a SUCCESS by the developers and that mission was over, done, gone. That Mass Grave looked awfully shallow once you're out of it. Phew.

Is this for the hunter quests? If not, get 20 relics and buy the AMR. It takes out everything in one shot.

When you're on fire, the game tells you to push Y to put out the flames, but most of the time you just whip out a syringe and heal yourself. I've had to do that several times before he puts out the fire.

It does the same thing tho, it seems random. I've tried both. Sometimes pushing puts the fire out, sometimes it swaps weapons. Holding can either put the fire out, or use a syringe. Bit annoying when you're in the middle of a firefight and a whisker away from dying.

Pretty good game, especially the world and most of the mechanics, one of the best open worlds for sure. However the story and large majority of the characters (except 2, sam and vass) totally sucked (incluing jason). I am mad dissappointed in the story for a number of reasons, it oculd have been so much better, and all the marketing material had me expecting it to be much better.
*Spoilers* the whole push for insanity crap was a total letdown, numerous ways. the technical main villian (hoyt) was a huge bore, 100% forgettable. Citra turned out to just be a crazy righteous (and moronic) bitch. |

The AI is extremely well done but once you liberate all outposts, this game is a dead boring lump of wood.

Alright. So.
I'm doing the mission now where you have to kill the three captains (you know) and you can choose to stay undetected by doing stealth kills. I did. Eventually, I got the two snipers after clearing the top. I hid one behind this structure (or so I thought), and the other sniper sees the body (I couldn't take him down in time because another two guys were coming in). Then, they ALL immediately ASSUME it was me and open fire. I mean what the fuck, there goes the realism. LIKE THAT WOULD HAPPEN. Come on Ubisoft. At least I already had taken down those pain in the ass heavies and the mission didn't fail.

- coop is a technical disaster!
It feels like that a different studio produced this shit... - too less guns and attachments There is no gun in this game that really satisfy me, only the Gears-of-war-like shotgun. And why the hell isn't it possible to attache anything to the AK47?! ![]() There isn't even a signature gun version of the AK47 in this game... Why the hell is there a second VECTOR in this game when they both have the same attachments?!... ridiculous!!!!

I had an issue last night, on one of the final mission. I'd come back to the game after a few hours off, booted up to the checkpoint, engaged the first few enemies and immediately my gun would vanish from my hands, leaving just my hand floating holding an invisible shotgun. I couldn't fire, couldn't swap weapons, throw grenades or anything. The enemies were still shooting me. I died several times, same thing happened every respawn. I eventually gave up and restarted the entire mission, and it was fine then. Random

MOAR:
During the Black Gold mission (You and Sam on a turret blow up 4 things) I kept switching back to my Sniper Rifle after planting the bombs. The Sniper Rifle wasn't either of the two weapons I had equipped at the time though! I don't see why Enhanced Perception makes the enemies appear as grey shadows (a bitch to see through walls and rocks) whereas Hunter's Instinct makes animals appear yellow (Which works just fine). If the enemies appeared yellow just like the animals it would be fine. Plus I'm not about to go and get the two confused am I? Nature Boy is fucking pointless when all flowers appear on your mini-map anyway. When you re-scale activated Radio Towers the switches are close and padlocked again! You can't re-open them.Plus a continuity error you may have noticed, you always bust off the padlock with the default knife, not whatever alternative you may have equipped. Those 'sweeping' animations in the Poker games are horrible. Jason Brody's trousers. Gunners on the Technical don't seem to feel bullets to the bollocks. I couldn't get the C4 to stick to my jeep. Fuck. No Jihad Jeep for me. It might appear like I hate this game due to the number of moans but I'm loving it mostly.

Don't be a dick. Put it in the passenger seat and make it feel welcome... In the jeep.

The enemies (and your allies) look all the same,
only 5 different types...yeah. *rolls with eyes* Then the enemies have only 3 cathphrases, i dunno how many times i've heard the "shoulda used a rubber" line....SO fucking annyoing. I got 7 Skillpoints left and i got all skills unlocked. What should i do with the points, seems idiotic to get it. After some time it gets very repetetive, doing the usual Hunter/Wanted Dead Quests. In the beginning the game is awesome, no doubt about that, but after a while it's boring. |

How the heck did the game get 100/100, 10/10 at some many sites when the graphics look terrible?! Seriously, I climbed to the top of the radio tower an almost barfed. Far Cry 1 on my PC had better graphics than this. My Wii U has better graphics than this. They're not even trying. The distant mountains are painted on the sky.
Just Cause 2 blows away this game graphically, what a joke. |

My only gripes have already been stated repeatedly by others in this thread. The healing mechanic (hold y) and the driving which seems to have the same physics as an air hockey puck!

Also Far Cry 1 was released in 2004. Xbox 360 came out in 2005. With only a year difference it's no wonder why it would look good on a pc at the time. The 360 still has the exact same specs as it did back then. This is 7 year old hardware. |

You don't even need to crouch. I've managed to plant C4 at several locations on the jeep; on the sides, on the hood, etc.

While I am enjoying the game, I don't feel it's a 10/10, and it seems like someone decided to make Far Cry 3 be Just Cause 2 in FPS mode (without the awesome grappling hook and no tons of explody stuff, I might add). It's a decent, fun game (a lot more than FC2, that's for sure), but here are some gripes:
1. Jason Brody looks and sounds like Ted from How I Met Your Mother. As Ted is widely considered to be a douche (even by the show's fans, no less), this is not a good thing. 2. I don't really like any of Brody's pals, so I wouldn't really be compelled to rescue them if the story didn't force me to. 3. I don't like the fact that new skills are only opened based on how far you are into the story as opposed to level progression. Like they were worried I'd ignore the main campaign or something. Since I liberated the North island before completing much of the story, and I had built up 15 skill points with nothing to spend them on because I'd purchased all of the unlocked skills already. 4. Attempting a Death from Above with a hang glider is fucking impossible. I tried it dozens of times on a stationary enemy on a roof and couldn't hit him once. I did perfect landings right next to him so he could hit me with his rifle and knock me down, but the game does not assist in any way, like it will if you drop on a guy near the end of a zip line. 5. If I'm standing in grass and using a flame thrower, the grass at my feet catches fire immediately after pulling the trigger. While I dig that the grass can burn and love the effect, I have issue with it doing it in this manner. I think the operative word is "thrower" in the weapon title. That means that the flame is going AWAY from me, not at my feet. 6.The body-dragging skill sucks ass. The fact that I can only drag a body when backing up, but then don't get any way to see where I'm going is just not helpful. And to top it off, sometimes enemies see the bodies through other objects, so it's a rather pointless perk. 7. The chained takedown perk is pretty cool, but it's difficult to see your next target when the first is filling the screen with his terrified, bloody face... 8. Other than for XP and a little cash, side-missions are not worth doing. And I'm not talking the Path of the Hunter and Wanted: Dead activities, I'm talking about the "missions" with the blue exclamation points. Granted, I haven't done anything on the Southern island, so this could change, but I'm doubting it. 9. Taking way too much damage from inconsequential falls. I lost 1.5 health bars dropping from the roof of a ground-level hut. What the fuck is that? I lose less health from getting shot! 10. The inventory system is a facade. It seems cool that you can upgrade for more slots, but there are really only three things - animal pelts, plants and junk to sell. I'd rather they just left out the junk and make the pick-ups all money-based and leave the pack slots just for animal skins and plants. Or, y'know, come up with useable items worth carting around... 11. About mid-way through the Northern island, money became pointless. I ended up buying guns just to keep my wallet from maxing out. I don't think the monetary system in this game was well-thought-out in the slightest. 12. And the "treasure chests" (the little diamonds all over the map) are rarely ever worth going after. They usually contain cheap junk and small amounts of money no matter how difficult the chest was to get to. And now I get thrown so much cash, they're kind of a nuisance unless they're at my feet at a place I was coming to for something else entirely. 13. Poker is dreadful. In fact, it makes the poker in Red Dead seem sophisticated. I think the best thing about it is that it remembers to burn a card before the flop, turn and river cards are played. 14. Way, way, WAY too many split pots. I went through one game where someone at the table and I had the exact same hand 3 times! What kind of algorithm shuffles these cards anyway? Well, if the animation is any indication, Brody just flips three "chunks" of cards together and starts dealing - it looks terrible. So glad I got the cheevo for this so I never have to play it again. 15. Oh, and putting a different colored shirt and a hat on the two other guys at the poker table doesn't distract me from the fact that ALL 3 have the same face. It's also kind of annoying that the same 3 guys hang out at every poker location and one of them always seems to be an aggressive pre-flop raiser. Well, I'm only at about the half-way mark, so there might be more, but that's what I've got so far... |
