Warlord Derank Glitch?

I have a few questions regarding the derank process.
First, could I derank from say 18 to 1 normally through the reset option? (taking 17(?) games)
And then go over the 1500 cap to derank to 30(from 1)?
In this one topic over here (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/f...d.php?t=361116) it says you have to break the XP cap and then reset, but it's all a bit confusing to me.

Could someone plainly explain this to me?
