Elites in Halo 3: ODST

I was going around in Halo 3: ODST finding audio logs and i went into a dark alley and turned on my visor and found about 4 or 5 dead elites with weapons by a stair case close to Dare's crash site. Has anyone seen this too?

Dare says it's "classified". I hate how nothing in the campaign gets answered at the end.

I found this as well, but I never figured out what it was supposed to be. I don't think it ever actually tells you exactly what happened.

it's just to show that the brutes are taking over as the main military force of the covenant by killing off the elites before they turn on the prophets which they do during the end of halo 2 and 3

Yeah, if you play halo 3 its all brutes... its just showing you the brutes becoming the major force of the convernant instead of the elites
