Go back to the vehicule "mission failed" problem

I was in a mission and decided to leave the vehicule to go complete a sidequest...


It said "go back to the vehicule" and the timer ran out and I failed the mission

My problem now: I respawn at a location NOWHERE near the damn vehicule so it's impossible to go back to it, and i keep getting the mission failed message

Anything I can do now??

I had a similar problem where a NPC kept getting killed during one of the later missions. I signed up for XBOX LIVE and joined in someone elses game nearby and finished the mission.
If you join up to someone elses game you will enter their game and should be able to complete the mission.
