Half life 2 freeze the console

Hi, I have a problem with Half Life 2:
In the chapters "Our Benefactors" the game crash always at the same spot (a gunfight during the end I suppose, when the first strider appear in a long corridor) and freeze the entire console.

I know it's not a bad disc, since my brother played and finished HL2, HL2 Ep.1. and Ep.2. without any bug.

What can I do to resolve this?

solved restarting the level.

Does it all the time in Portal. Really fucking irritating.
