Well I'm happy I finally have proof. There's ups and downs to this, I no longer have to play on the Hardcore difficulty for a second time but the downside is I have to play more cautious on a rush game mode. Well thanks. Hopefully this will sort out all the arguments on which one is right.

Well I'm glad I could help put this debate to rest. Most chapters weren't too bad in normal NYM Mode, though the final 2 levels are hell due to length and pure brutalness from the enemy AI, and will be sure to cause many rages due to dying that late in the game.

My final question to this thread that got some what off topic is, how much damage do you take on NYM compared to the story line difficulties? I would gladly appreciate it if you or someone can answer my question or I'll have to make another thread. Lol.

From what I can tell it seemed like the damage started at normal difficulty but went up the further the game went on. I went through the first half of the game without dying and hardly using painkillers but by chapter ten or so I was being put into last stand with ease if not being careful.

I could be imagining the increased damage though and it may just be the fact the enemies had stronger guns more often. Either way, hope that answer helps to some extent.

Someone NEEDS to try and test this out for us it ca't' be much trouble for them, just complete chapter 1 and die on the next chapter and see what happens then we'll have a confirmed answer. I would do it myself but I don't even own the game.

I'm just guessing... But couldn't “clear every level without a death“ still mean
that you just need to finish one level and get checkpoints inbetween?
I really do hope.

Edit: Of course I mean clear each level without zero deaths.

ahh, finally some solid validation! thank you dude, I figured the Brandy Guide was right when it said we couldn't die at all. do you suggest doing Hard/Hardcore mode first or NYM/NYMH modes?

I beat it on Medium two nights ago and died over 100 times, either I rushed too much or the game stands difficult on the low settings themselves. pretty rough achievement if you ask me, all for 10G, but that won't stop me from doing it.

To unlock NYM hardcore do you need to beat NTM on hard or can you just breeze through the game on easy?

NYMHC you have to finish each level without a death. Like the picture says. If you get to chpater 5 and die you will start at chapter 5.

yeah, people seem to think "whole game with no deaths" means one sitting without dying. I am pretty sure rockstar are correct about the levels being replayed, you just can't die on each one. NYM has replayable chapters does it not?

I just unlocked this myself. Got to chapter 3.....died.....started back at chapter 1. There is NO level select on NYMH. You have to beat the entire game without dying.

There is an awesome solution to all of this. Each one of us lets unlock the mode and see for ourselves, that's it.

Lol wtf..that's not even a challenge that's just stupid, either that or the game must be much easier than I think, imagine messing up on the last chapter countless times and replaying a 10 hours game on hard? Somethings not right..and no ones won the achievement on TA either yet.
