i tailed him on foot a few times without being spotted but no achievement, i also dont think i was spotted during the driving part.

the first time i folllowed him by car without having a single crash or knock i got the achievement no probs.

for me the car part was the harder part following him on foot was easy i never got spotted tailing him on foot, i didnt think i did by car but idk if crashing car means he somehow spots you despite the case not failing or your partner saying a word.

1 time earle said back up he's seen us but the case did'nt end.

My ad vice (pun intended) to anyone struggling with this is to dashboard as soon as you have any sort of accident in the driving sequence

You don't have to dashboard. I just hit start quit & resume. Starts @ the interview. On a side note: I got it my 2nd try staying on the same side of the road you start on... Sprint, RB on the front fender of the car in front of you, sprint to newsstand hit A, sprint all the way across the street to the shoe shiners on the left, hit A. Sit here until he walks past you & all the way to the end of the street & turns right. Sprint to the corner he rounded, cutscene will start

i found it to be better to stay on the side of the road where you park you car. you hide behind arnett's yellow car and hide behind the bench further down the road. Then there is a street artist you can incognito. it easy becuase Arnett eventually does cross the street to the right side and if you stay on the right you wont get spotted crossing the street. Becuase if a car honks at you while you are crossing the street Arnett turns around and spots you instantly.
