Is there something stuck in the slot? Something might be blocking the RAM. How many RAM slots does the board have? Try different slots if it has multiple.

I checked and there's nothing in the way of them that I can see in the spots. It has 4 slots, and I've tried every combination of slots to no avail. Which makes me think that maybe it isn't that!

My problem with PCs is that within 6 months or less, you need to upgrade them for the newer games. That's why I got a 360. I had one that I spent $300 on a bigger video card, just to play this one game. Now, I don't even touch it.

I won't need to upgrade this for about three or four years.

Nah they don't see to be in the way of anything. I've re-re-re-re-re-put them in, and I took the processor out and put it back in again, and it seems to drop in fine as well. I just don't know what else to do!

Try and click them in one side at a time, and make sure the latch is out of the way.

Don't listen to me but I'm having my own computer problems with my netbook.
My solution may involve a sledgehammer.

You've fixed it by accident lol. Have you installed the drivers and everything else yet?

Yeah I installed all of the motherboard and graphics card stuff last night, this thing is pretty good! Not had a chance to play a demanding-ish PC game yet though!
One thing that's annoying me is that the monitor, whilst I have the resolution to 1920x1080, there's visible parts of the screen around the outside where the pixels aren't being used at all. Any idea how to fix that? |

Go into CCC (Catalyst Control Center)> My Digital Flatpanels > Scaling Options > Move the slider into the "Overscan" range until the black lines disappear. Make sure you're in "Advanced View" and have the latest CCC driver, otherwise these options may not be available.

Gorilla Stomper would the build you suggested be suitable for running Diablo 3 on max settings? Cheers.

I got my PC custom built from an Ebay store, but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was called.
Quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB HDD, graphics cards and all that Jazz - £270 delivered. |

Possibly. I just asked a friend that has it and his exact response was "It could run on a calculator", so going off that and the recommended requirements I'd say yes.

Diablo is probably gonna be the first game I purchase for this PC. I have Morrowind to play through, but I won't install that until my last exam on Friday, but I have been playing a bit of TF2, so much fun!

Sorry for rez'ing an old thread, but I'm looking to buy a second monitor for the set up I have. There's only 2 DVI ports left, but I could just as easily purchase a DVI-to-HDMI cable. The one that I was recommended in this thread has been discontinued, and it cost me roughly 120 pounds. Can anyone recommend me one, for that price, for the same size? (I think its a 22")
Cheers guys! |

I've had this monitor since Sep: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MO-060-BQ
Love it. Great picture, performs well when gaming. Colours look great and text is crisp/clear.
