Uzumaki is just fucked up and gross, which is why it's such a good horror title. One of the only mangas that's made me feel sick. Slug people? Yuck!!

If you liked Uzumaki, then you might like Gyo. It's done by the same guy and is not as long as Uzumaki. I didn't think it was as good, but my main selling point was this shit..

As much as I loved the series as a whole, I wasn't too sure on the ending. I liked the lab assistant and hated the guys girlfriend, so I was a bit angry at how she suddenly gained her life again and chased her out the lab. On the other hand, art was cool, story was awesome. A good read. I'll need to keep reading through your list, but I'm a bit content with Vegabond at the moment.. I'm on chapter 151.

I used to buy Shonen Jump (if by any chance whatsoever someone doesn't know what it is, it was a monthly manga book with about 5 series in it).

My favourites were Dragonball Z ( i know I know, typical) and One Piece. I loved One Piece for a long time before reading the mange.

I used to be BIG into music, and I downloaded this video of misfits one last caress and it was a fan vid with an anime in it. Searched high and low until I found that it was one piece. I then proceeded to ebay and ordered 4 box sets of them (all japanese withenglish subs, cuz it wasn't out with any North American series).

Yeah, wasn't too keen on the ending myself, the same with Uzumaki. Just one of those endings that leaves it to the rest of your imagination with no proper explanation given.

Glad you're liking Vagabond. I recommended it to a friend on here and he also enjoyed it. Tell a friend about it, then he'll tell a friend and then more people will know about this masterpiece.

So much good shit out there people don't know about, it's almost criminal. I laugh when people say stuff like One Piece (as good as it's meant to be) is in a class of its own when they haven't even read half the stuff out there.

Out of that list, 20th Century Boys has the best story. It has mystery and plot twists that will drive you insane. But it kinda fell apart after 17 volumes, so I'd put it beneath Monster.

I would have to say Detective Conan/Case Closed. I am interested in detective stuff, so this series caught my attention. All of the different cases are cool, and sometimes I try to figure out how the crime was committed and who did it before it is revealed XD I'm at around volume...40 I think? I read all of the ones that were currently in America and I don't know if any others have come out yet.

No, it wasn't cancelled. It just takes forever for them to come out with the books x.x Apparently 41 just came out last month here and 42 is supposed to come out in April. Japan came out with book 74 or something..so America is really behind :/ I wish they would come out faster or something so I can read about more cases XD

One of my favorite series as well.

Other than Conan I like Vinland Saga, Vagabond, Berserk, Claymore, Dorohedoro and other pretty violent sennin manga.
