Introduction

Remake of a popular shoot 'em up game originally for Dreamcast. It includes a newly arrange mode called New Order mode as well as the original Arcade mode. The game is re-rendered in beautiful HD graphics making it well worth the purchase if you are a fan of the original game. Also, if you are an achievement hunter, this is a great game to get because it is extremely easy to 1000G.

Walkthrough

If you have already played this game or if you are pretty good at shoot 'em ups you can try and go for the achievements the legit way or you can just turbo A to get the credits to Free Play and then go for the achievements. You get 1 credit per hour of play, and after 9 credits it goes to Free Play, so you need 7 hours of New Order and 7 hours of Arcade mode to unlock Free Play in each of those modes.

Here's the basic of what you need to do in order to get 1000G in the game:

1. Clear the New Order mode twice. Once on Easy difficulty. Once on Hard difficulty.
2. Clear the New Order Extra mode once on Normal difficulty.
3. Clear the Arcade mode twice. Once on Easy difficulty. Once on Hard difficulty.
4. Clear the Arcade Extra mode once on Normal difficulty.
5. Mop-up: Getting 100% shoot down rate, etc. Refer to achievement guide for details.

As you can see, once you have unlocked Free Play, it is a trivial matter to complete the game. If you do not need Free Play, you can technically 1000G the game in 4 hours. If you need to unlock Free Play, you need to add 14 hours, making it 18 hours. Either way, you will have 1000G in less than 20 hours.

Let your gauge charge up by not using the shot button for a short while. Then, press and hold the shot button to use the option and let the options kills certain number of enemies.

Make high contribution

Get 100% shoot down ratio on a single stage. Easiest on Arcade mode 1-1. Just use bombs and kill all the enemies you see on the screen.

HIGH ABILITY 15G

FUEL CUT 30G

Cut the fuel of the enemy boss

Kill the boss quickly. Easiest to do on stage 1-1 by using bombs and having the 2P join in.

AMMO CUT 80G
弾薬を節約した
Save ammo

Have 6 bombs in reserve when you beat the boss. You can clear up to stage 1-2 without dying and not using bombs or have 2P join in. If 1P and 2P both die and continue back in, you will each get 1 bomb. This gets you to 5 bombs on 1P. Now, just play 1-1 and you will get 1 more bomb power up from enemies. Beat the boss without dying to unlock the achievement.

How do you unlock "High Ability"?

It unlocked for me when I got the "Contribute". I didn't do the bomb thing... I just played normally and shot everything. Maybe it's related to some score ratio per level? I'm not exactly sure but it wasn't hard to unlock... I wasn't even expecting it.

I'm not sure if using bombs results in a lower score... if you're doing that and not getting it.. that MIGHT be why.

Unfortunately, nobody seems to know exactly. I got it before I got Contribute, and many got it together with Contribute, and the name seems to suggest doing well in a level, so I just assumed High Ability was like 80% shot down, and Contribute was like 99% shot down ratio.

If you already got Contribute, yet you don't have High Ability, then my assumption was obviously wrong. I did play two players when I got the achievement, so my other guess is that you need to play better than the other player in order to get this achievement. As in, it refers to you outperforming (or having higher ability) the other player.

Maybe i'm wrong, but i am sure i've played well over an hour (at least 2 it seems) on Arcade mode on this and i still only have 2 continues. What am i doing wrong?? Or am i just way off with my estimation of how long i've played for.

I got TOP GUN whilst doing no bombs. Could be for not using bombs or maybe beating a 2nd player?

No, you need to be in the game which is why you will need a turbo pad. You need to play New Order mode for 7 hours and Arcade mode for 7 hours.

This is actually incorrect. You dont need a turbo pad. You can just start up a new game, either in arcade mode or new order mode, and the pause it. Leave it on for however long you want and then exit game (in menu) and it will save! Once you accumulate over 7 hours of this (for each mode) you will unlock free play. Then just cruise through the achievements.

Hope this helps people out.

I can confirm it works, pausing in-game unlocks free play. Did it yesterday. What went wrong though is that I thought that unlocking free play would be permanent, which isn't. So next time I will sit and play immediately after unlocking free play

do u mean to say that free play resets itself when you turn the game off?

Yes, that's what happened in my game. My credits went back to 2 when I turned my Xbox off and loaded the game again a few hours later.

Estimated achievement difficulty: 1/10, don't let that fool you, the estimated game difficulty is more like 10/10.

This game is hard as $@*%, the free play helps you to continue but unfortunately it resets it to checkpoints so you have to restart certain areas, with only 5 lives and an absolute screen full of bullets to dodge I don't really get how it's possible, I've been stuck on the 1-5 boss for hours.

I wondered why there was only 10 people on the leaderboards with the 1000 for such a supposedly easy game lol

Oh and my free play stays there after I turn it off.

Do this. It definitely works and the free play does not reset for me. I'm using a PAL version of the game if that makes a difference. As for being difficuilt i only really struggled with one achievement, the one where you need to finish a boss while having 6 bombs. Managed to do it with 2 controllers though. Be persistant with it and youll get there. Once you work out the last boss' patterns (1-5) he actually becomes quite easy.

Does having two controllers cancel out the checkpoint resets when you run out of lives, it sounds a lot easier if that's the case.

I must be playing on extra because 1/ The achievement popped up when I started it and 2/ Extra is all I can choose now, the regular New Order is no longer there.

When I did the new order extra modes for the achievements it was on normal. Not sure if that makes a difference. I basically followed sanger's guide above which states:

Thanks, I got it working now, turning it on and off seemed to fix it, weird. I only need the arcade achievements now, good game but I'd have never finished it without 2 joypads lol

Used for second time the pause method and worked fine and did not reset. The second controller was a life saver. Thanks all for your help

I was playing the game with a friend co-op locally. But somehow he was getting achievements and I didn't get the achievements

Whats up with that? 1P can get achievements, screw the second player. Really weird.. now I have to play the game on my own, because it won't give the second player any achievements.

hello i was wondering why i havent unlocked free play mode yet i have left my xbox on for at least over 7 hours in both new order and arcade with a wired controller and paused the game does anyone know why this isnt unlocking it also shows i have five lives in both modes but it wont go beyond that no matter how long i leave it on
