Created Player?!?!

how do i play a game with my created player?

-Go to create-a-player.

-Make him how you want 7"10 or whatever.

-Assign him to a team that is not highlighted in red when you go through the list (it will be a small school, the big ones are always full teams)

-Save roster.

-Go to quickplay and pick the crappy team you put him on.

I honestly have no idea where to go after i set his team and school. The schools highlighted in red honestly the menu system in this game is fucked and way over complicated. I cant find a fuccking thing. Why the fuck wont it let me use my created character?
