the boss at the End of the DLC

how the hell do you kill that thing?? i ran around it for an hour, shooting rockets at it.. with no effect... what do you have to do to kill it??

Use the moon rover to run into its legs and then kill the enemies who spawn and repeat until it tells you to jump into the queen from the front of where you entered the area.
