Robin Challenge Guide (Videos)
Here it is at long last! Robin's challenge guide! Before we get to the vids I have a few notes about Robin's gameplay.
Robin (at least in my own experience) seems to have problems with triple counters. Every time I've tried to manage one I've had a 10% success rate. I also discovered (after recording his combat challenges) that you can use his quickfire Snap Flash ( + )in lieu of a counter ( ). I recorded myself playing Joker's Carnival with him and did it in that video around the 5:38 marker and right at the end of the vid. With Robin's Lost City map, you will have a far greater rate of success on the Fire Extinguisher medal if you take out the two enemies with thermal scanners first. I'm personally not a fan of the Freight Train map. I struggle with seeing who I'm targeting in the side scroller format. Some seem to like it, though. Just like Nightwing, Robin has extra maps and they are listed in their respective categories. You will find them in the Downloaded Maps section of the game. Moves List: There are standard attacks for all characters (such as Special Combo Takedown) so this will only apply to moves specific to Robin. Special Combo Staff Sweep: +![]() Special Combo Knockdown Throw: +![]() Combo Shuriken: Tap ![]() Quickfire Explosive Gel: +![]() Quickfire Zip Kick: +![]() Quickfire Snap Flash: +![]() Quickfire Bullet Shield: +![]() COMBAT CHALLENGES

Robin's campaigns are probably the biggest nuisance of his gameplay. These took me the longest to complete of everything.
Also like Nightwing, Robin has 13 campaigns. CAMPAIGN CHALLENGES
Campaign 1 - Search and Destroy Campaign 2 - Street Justice Campaign 3 - Offensive Maneuvers Campaign 4 - City Invader Campaign 5 - Midnight Assault Campaign 6 - Hostile Takeover Campaign 7 - Double Jeopardy Campaign 8 - Ruthless Vengeance Campaign 9 - Combat Expert Campaign 10 - Predator Expert Campaign 11 - Combat Master Campaign 12 - Predator Master Campaign 13 - Black Mask Campaign

Robin's gameplay is giving me a headache...I'm coming from Nightwing right now, and Robin is SO inferior. No ranged effectiveness whatsoever.

I took first place with him on TOTW Extreme the other day and have significantly reduced the completion times on a lot of his pred maps. I'll be doing vid updates when possible.

I started playing as Robin after finishing Catwoman's medals, so he was a godsend compared to her. You're saying Nightwing plays Predator mode better than Robin? Now I'm looking forward to finishing up my last achievements. Thanks again for your guides.

I am going to have to update this guide because I have significantly reduced my run times on a lot of his maps.

Hey Drucifer, as always, thanks for all your guides. They've been extremely helpful for me. Right now I'm only one Catwoman campaign challenge away from getting 1140/1140 in the game (not counting Calendar Man or DLC).
I love completing games but at the same time I've went through tons of grief trying to get these Catwoman medals. How would you say the difficulty of the Robin/Nightwing challenges compares with Catwoman's challenges? Would you say that going through Catwoman's challenges is a good preparation and would maybe make Robin and Nightwing a breeze for me? If they are still godly difficult then I'll probably just stay away for now, take a break from Arkham, and wait for a price drop. |

I had far less trouble with Nightwing and Robin, though I have yet to go back and refine my techniques with Catwoman like I did with Robin and Nightwing. I'm sure there are simpler ways of doing her challenges. To answer your question, I would go ahead and purchase Nightwing and Robin as you will likely be able to complete their challenges far easier than Catwoman's. Nightwing is an interesting hybrid of her speed and Batman's strength, whereas Robin is extremely similar to Batman though unique enough to be his own character.

1) 4 new trophies 2) You can select animated/cartoonish skins for both Nightwin and Robin in challenge mode! 3) Robin has a smoke pellet and Nightwing has a disruptor. God yes! That should make challenges a ton easier than Catwoman. =p |

I have two questions about the DLC:
How do I use Robin's snap flash? I equip it but there's no option to use it in predator mode. Even the LT+B quick fire doesn't seem to do anything. And how does Nightwing's detective vision work? |

+ when locked on.Nightwing's detective vision is pretty much bare bones... you can just see enemies & it has a little radar in the upper right corner that shows when enemies are close (pretty useless).

So Snap Flash can only be used on an enemy? That explains why there was never an option to use it when I tried it - I was trying out all the gadgets in a quiet corner. |

+ or you can quickfire plant it on someone when in a tight spot with + (see my End of the Line Extreme vid). It can be detonated with + or + .

Thanks for the replies.
So, are you allowed to plant snap flashes on dead enemies? |

I quit to the main menu and loaded up the campaign menu for Robin. I wanted to scout the campaign challenges that had EOTL Extreme. Thankfully, the two campaigns that have them let you use free medal modifiers. Woot! So I only have to get that medal once. Now to actually pull it off, heheh. |

It just wouldn't work and I wanted to rage. Sometimes I get shot and sometimes I don't (while running away after killing the henchman with a beat down). Sometimes one henchman notices a guy's dead and sometimes nobody does. And when one henchman does notice one guy is dead, sometimes no one follows him, and sometimes only one person follows him. The game seems broken at times to me. I understand they probably thought it was clever to have the A.I. be spontaneous, but if you have a medal like this you need to program the henchmen to be way more predictable. It was so frustrating performing the steps in the above paragraph over and over and over and over again and never getting the result I wanted (which was, quite simply, having three or more henchmen investigating the dead body with the snap flash). I finally got it to work though and ended up getting the three medals. Phew. |

An alternative method (which can be seen in my Predator Master campaign vid) is to plant it and follow him to the floor grates, then do a takedown.

Anyways, once again, thanks for the videos. It definitely helped me for some of the bothersome Predator challenges that involved Explosive Gel (Natural Selection, Police Brutality). I probably would've never figured out how to efficiently plant the Explosive Gel in the appropriate places and detonate it at the correct time. My last achievement for this game now is Story Teller. Note: I had lots of trouble with Meltdown Mayhem (Extreme). I have absolutely no idea why. Everytime I followed your method in the video something terrible happened. Performing a double-ledge-takedown was the challenge holding me back; it's tough to perform it when it's a very small map and there is almost always an enemy on the ground that spots you.

The easiest way to do it, that I've found is to immediately backtrack to the first vantage point once you take the sniper down, so long as all the enemies are on the other side of the middle structure, you should be able to get a double ledge takedown when the armored guy and his friend check on the sniper. You can see what I mean here. How you want to finish it from there is up to you.
