Nightwing Challenge Guide (Videos)
Here is another challenge guide for Nightwing. When Robin launches I'll be making one for him as well.
I'm listing his exclusive challenges in their respective categories. So while they are actually in your downloaded maps section of your challenges, they will be listed with the other combat/predator maps here. Moves List: There are standard attacks for all characters (such as Special Combo Takedown) so this will only apply to moves specific to Nightwing. Special Combo Eskrima Ricochet: +![]() Special Combo Shock Attack: + (acts like Batman's REC)Combo Wing Ding: Tap ![]() Quickfire Electrical Blast: +![]() Quickfire Batclaw: +![]() Quickfire Eskrima Stick: +![]() Quickfire Wrist Dart: +![]() Just like Batman, Nightwing can do a Batclaw Strike by quickfiring the batclaw, then holding in the direction of your enemy and pressing .COMBAT CHALLENGES

Nightwing and Robin both have 2 unique maps and therefore will have 13 campaigns rather than 12. The OP in the FAQ has hit it's character limit, so I've added this to the "Help" post and references to DLC video guides in the original FAQ. Didn't take long to fill it up, guess the help section is next!

You may have to make a super thread to house all the challenge videos for all 4 characters.
In that case make sure to make many reserved posts. |

I was considering that. After Robin releases I will talk with admin about my making a super thread for DLC and then when it's ready they'd be able to delete my previous stickies to avoid clutter.

Having all four characters in one super (no pun intended) thread will make it laggy and hard to navigate. Having an individual thread for each character is much better and organized; and I'm sure no one will be working on multiple characters simultaneously.

Also a valid point. Being as Pants already said there was no issue with having multiple threads, maybe I'll just leave it as is.

I'm starting to get runtimes under a minute on many of the predator maps with Nightwing. When I make the Robin guide, I'll update the vids on this guide.
I'm currently ranked 3rd on EOL

Some guy has been running around YouTube disliking all my vids and saying I'm garbage. This same guy has vids of himself playing as Nightwing and Robin where all he does is silent takedowns and plant Snap Flashes.
Oh the fun of jealousy.

Put the original videos back and just link to your fast time video at the end.

Thanks man, really appreciate it. I did all the Nightwing Predators first go using your original videos. I've been playing other games for the last 2 weeks or so and I came back here to use them again for the campaigns but can't replicate any of them.

No problem. I'm glad to be able to help people. The only one I retained from the edits was my Wayne Manor run simply because the way to do "Knock Knock" in that vid is far easier to replicate than doing it the way it was in my original vid. I do also have campaign vids in here to help with choosing mutators.

Wow I finally did all of Robin's challenges - now onto Nightwing!
I've barely played any of Nightwing, but I've been watching your videos and have a few questions: 1) Wrist dart shots to the head are a one hit kill? Woot! 2) I noticed in one video that you pounced on an armoured thug from a gargoyle. Is Nightwing the only character that can do this? I don't think I've ever been able to pounce/drop attack/glide kick into any armoured henchman with Catwoman or Robin or Batman. Last edited by LordOdadjian; 12-03-2011 at 12:12 AM. |

2) I think if you are high enough the pounce will knock armored guys down with either Catwoman or Nightwing. Being as they are the only two who have that attack, I imagine it's exclusive to them.

No, that's not a predator perk, it's a combat perk. The only medal I used in the map he's talking about is free medal. The guy was coming up the walkway and I pounced him.

Just a couple of questions about these moves above. I have tried a number of button conversions but for some reason I can't work out what the buttons you're referring to for the Eskrima Ricochet, I've done it accidentally, but not been able to do it deliberately? So could you tell me what the R button is, I don't have an R button on my xbox controller? The other thing is that I've seen in your videos Nightwing putting the two sticks together and blasting everyone in the radius, how is that executed. Finally when you ricochet the Eskrima stick sometimes it Nightwing kicks it and they go around again, how do you do that as well? Ok thanks for the tips. Since there isn't much information on the web about these dlc's and Nightwing's moves this is great. Thanks again Ab |

For the Ricocet, you need to press X & A at the same time, remember your combo counter needs to be yellow to be able to do this move. All the special moves can only be executed when your combo counter is yellow, which happens normally after an 8x combo (or 5x when you have the upgrade from the main game). I think the move you ask about the shocking everyone is the B & A move.
The R button is probably the Right Trigger? Last edited by Joel78; 01-05-2012 at 01:40 AM. |

As for the R button being the right trigger, I did think that, but on the original post it clearly indicates right and left triggers differently, I did wonder if it was right bumper and it maybe that it is right bumper but it only activates when you've got you combat counter up as before. All of which is a bit hard to register in combat. Anyway thanks, if there is any other clarifications please let me know. Ab |

No problem, it's been a while since I played the game but I don't think any moves use the Right Bumper. Which move are you not sure about? The only one listed in the first post with R is the quickfire wrist dart, which is pressing the Right Trigger twice in quick succession. The other ones, such as the quickfire electrical blast require you to hold down the Left Trigger and press the other button specified. Those ones can be done at any time.
Hope this helps. |

I still can't seem to activate the Excrima ricohet, and also the stun move where you send an electical bolt out to everyone is a combination I still can't find. here is a picture of what I mean
![]() No matter what buttons I am pressing and where I am in the combo count. I have to say (not sure if this makes any difference) that I've not yet finished the single player campaign so I don't know if not having all of batmans upgrades makes a difference in Nightwings challenge maps. But I have to say I am so struggling to get past Survival of the fittest. I never seem to have enough hit points out out last the guys in the final round, there is so many and even jumping and dodging only gets me so far. Anyway I hoped these moves might give me the edge to finishing that map, but so far after playing that challenge map maybe 60 times I've still not go to the final round. Any help would be appreciated. Ab Last edited by Arbanax; 01-06-2012 at 03:20 PM. |

That photo is of the Special Combo Shock Attack (B+A).
I had already finished the campaign and had all the upgrades, so had access to all the moves already. I'm not sure if unlocking the Batman moves also unlocks them for the others. In the campaign have you unlocked the combos? Such as B+A and X+A? If not, perhaps play through the campaign until you get those unlocked, and perhaps it will help. Certainly the Eskrima Ricochet X+A can be used to get big points, so once you can get that working you shouldn't have too many problems with Survival of the Fittest. |

I'm almost positive that Batman's upgrades carries over to Nightwing and Robin. For example, the upgrade for Batman which allows him to remain hidden on a gargoyle even if a thug is scanning it with a thermal scanner. It applies to Nightwing and Robin as well.
I'm presuming that if you don't have that upgrade for Batman, then you won't have it with Nightwing/Robin/Catwoman.

That would explain a lot, I think the escrima attack I did the picture of above is called a group stun, I still can't do this, not matter what controls I do. So that is quiet annoying.
Thanks anyway Ab |

Catwoman was bad enough but I am having a nightmare of a time with Nightwing's predator maps on extreme, is it me or are his challenges much harder than the others? In particular End of the Line. For some reason the enemies never seem to behave like they do in the videos. Does anyone know of or have a guranteed to work method for it?
***EDIT*** Haha typical, as soon as I get angry enough to post asking for help I manage to do it on the next attempt!! Just Top of the World Extreme now.

Well thanks for the input, but I still can't seem to pull this move off in the game. I actually managed it once, but by accident! By which I mean I did some button pushing combination and it happened. Subsequently I couldn't repeat what I did, so I've not see the Escrima group stun attack again.
I've tried all sorts of moves and every combination of buttons I can, but still nothing. All I can think of is that I must need to get to a critical bonus level to be able to do it, but I get to x20 sometimes and still nothing. Since I've now completed the game I am at a total loss as to why I can't make this move, but its so annoying as I want to do it to help beat Survival of the fittest which so far I've never got past the final round on. Anyway if anyone else can shed light on this, I'd be very grateful. I feel I'm missing something obvious! Ab |
