How well does the new Wireless Speed Wheel work with Blur?

I just picked up the new xbox "Wireless Speed Wheel", and am wondering how well it would work with Blur. Turning the wheel in the air is hooked up to the left stick moving left or right, but there is no way to do these motions with this controller:

• Left stick up and down
• Right stick any direction (there is no right stick at all)
• Shoulder buttons

So... how important are these controls in Blur?

You use the left sitck "down" to fire some power ups behind you that would normally shoot forward (shunt, bolts, also nitro breaking) so it's a pretty important function.
