First Place BEGINNER 10 - Win a BEGINNER Course in ARCADE Mode (any difficulty)
Straightforward, just start up a game, choose beginner and come first in the race.

First Place ADVANCED 10 - Win an ADVANCED Course in ARCADE Mode (any difficulty)
Straightforward, just start up a game, choose Advanced and come first in the race.

First Place EXPERT 10 - Win an EXPERT Course in ARCADE Mode (any difficulty)
Straightforward, just start up a game, choose Expert and come first in the race.

Slot Machine 15 - On a BEGINNER Course of ARCADE Mode press "Special" in front of the Slots to stop the 3 reels.
The beginner course is known as ‘Three Seven Speedway’. Simply drive round the first bend and in front of you there will be a slot machine sign above the road. Stop in view of it and just hit the ‘special button’ to stop the reels. (Note - Stopping the reels at ‘777’ gives you extra time in Arcade mode.)

YOU JUST LOST YOUR...15 - Find the hidden sign at the dead end in ADVANCED Course of ARCADE MODE.
To gain this Achievement simply turn around at the start of the ADVANCED course, take the ramp up to the right and you will see the sign.

Flipmode 15 - On an EXPERT Course of ARCADE Mode, upend the Jeffry statue by repeatedly pressing "Special".
To get this Achievement, start up the expert course and just after the second checkpoint, you shall see a statue of Jeffery in front of you, come to a stop near it and press the ‘special’ button until Jeffry is upside down.

Repair HORNET 20 - Repair damage in the Pit during Arcade Mode.
Very easy, just crash your car then drive into the pits to repair your vehicle.

Rank In 15 - Upload your record to the Time Trial Mode leaderboard.
Another straightforward one, after you finish a time trial the game will automatically upload your time and then the achievement will pop.

Challenge Clear 20 - Clear a challenge in CHALLENGE Mode.
As it states, enter challenge mode and complete any challenge.


Survive: 5000 20 - Log over 5000 in SURVIVAL Mode.
This Achievement will require a bit more effort to obtain. Start up survival mode and earn over 5000 in bonuses. To do this, just keep driving and around the fourth lap the Achievement will pop. This is best attempted on the beginner course due to the sharp bend and long curve on to straight.

Karaoke Racer! 30 - Play KARAOKE Mode until the end.
I have it on good authority that this is exactly as it says. Choose the Karaoke mode from the menu and play until the end of a song for a nice 30g!

100 hits 20 - Hit the sign or road cone 100 times. (number of hits is the cumulative total)
This is easiest done on ‘Three Seven Speedway’ (Beginner). Start the race, and on the left as you reach the apex of the bend, you will see some cones, just slow down, turn around and knock them all over, carry on up the pits and you will see more. Run them over then quit the game, rinse and repeat. (NB - You can re-hit the cones as this counts towards the 100 total hits.)

Not to reign on your parade Beardyboo, but you mislead the descriptions on the Track/Course Achievements, which clearly indiciate "FIRST PLACE", which may take some time, and if you're gonna do a guide right, please play the actual game (not the old ports).

And make sure the conditions to unlock them are correct, but at least you can just update this until release, and also, the "tiles" are not displayed, I see red "X's" on them. Other than that, I'm also waiting on Daytona USA as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I have played the game at Sega in Chiswick, my mate is a games tester. But your right, best to play the gold version first. Could someone send me a how too for the tiles, i have tried but ultimately failed. Thanks

Simple, if you're on I.E. Copy (right click) and then Paste (right click again, or CTRL-V) the appropriate tile when you edit it.

Or if you're on Firefox, just Drag and Drop (hold left click then release) the tile when you edit it.

Yes, you have to ask a mod in order to sticky a thread. Also, fix up the guide a little bit, still seeing those red x's and the and some of the descriptions have mixed gray and black wording, when you edit, just hit CTRL-A to highlight the whole guide and use the paint tool where the A and _ together is at.

Just to let you know you only have to stop the reels, it doesn't matter which they land on. Also the survival achievement which I thought might be difficult doesn't require many laps to complete as 5000 is on a meter which goes up with metres i think (def not bonus time). I would prob put missable achievements to 0 as there isn't any, not that require full replay through like a story mode if you get me.

I think I got them all in less than 45mins to an hour. If you run over the same cone or sign again, it counts! I got it in survival mode.

I want to add one thing but it is not a part of achievements. If you complete all challenges for basic, advanced and expert, you get two daytona usa gamer pics.

I completed all challenges and recieved two gamer pics for daytona usa which is nice.

I would rate the Achievement difficulty at 1/10. It takes less than 1 hour, you can set it to Very Easy for the majority of things, and Survival and beating a single Challenge are super easy.

For the hidden sign, it might help to point out that the dead end is on the lower-left corner of the map. Other dead ends appear on the map but can't actually be driven into.

And with the Jeffrey statue, note that the Back button must be pressed several times repeatedly. The statue advances one animation frame per button press.

The vehicle must actually be damaged in order for the Achievement to pop. Drive into a few walls and get the hood dented first.

it should be noted that even if you don't complete the race (i.e. complete the number of laps within the time limit), as long as you are in first when the time runs out, you still get the achievement.

also, in karaoke mode, you can set it to auto drive if you are feeling super lazy. achievement still pops.

Yep, looks much better now, I know you get a free Gamer Pic when booting up once, but I didn't know you can also get another after completing Challenge Mode completly, and it gets better with online multiplayer too.

Oh, another little quirk the game has that some of you may not know about and isn't an achievement, hold right on the D-Pad (VF4 button) when selecting your course and car to make Pounding Pavement play instead of that track's, um, track.

For the 100 hits, it'll still count if you hit the cones/signs, use a rewind, & re-hit the same cones/signs. That's how I got the achievement.

Oh, cool, there's gamerpics for beating Challenge Mode? Well, now I'm more motivated to play this!

Thanks for the guide mate. I just came across the news that it would come out this week, had no idea... I think I heard about it some time ago, but it was totally off my radar.

So much fond memories of this game when I was 15 or 16 and bought a Saturn with my own money, from my first job Then through college we used to go to an arcade nearby and play it a lot too! Just bought it from xbox.com and feel an urge to skip last hour of work, go home and play it.

Strangely, I do wish the achievements were a little more challenging

I need to clarify one thing. You do recieve a free daytona usa gamer pic once you boot the game up for the first time however if you beat all challenges for basic, advanced and expert, you will get other gamer pic of daytona usa car (red/blue car).

I played the trial game but each time I drove past a checkpoint, time wasn't added on. The race always ends after 50 seconds, where I'd finish at around 22nd place (about 2-and-a-half laps). Could I just confirm that time do get added in the actual game itself?

Yes, time does get added in the full game. (Depending on what mode you play)

wow, i have never played a game where you get to maximum in under an hour with no skill at all (i have never played daytone before), this game has to be in the end-year list as easiest xbla game
