The Perfect Achievement Guide

Hey all:
The list below details everything I picked up in the game to obtain the perfect achievement for totemball. I only ran through it once, so I cannot verify it 100%

Some things to keep in mind:

1. In order to get to the bonus shell changing area in level 1 (welcome to totemball), you must first get the turtle shell on level 4 (Island Hopping). I don’t know if you NEED to get into the shell selection area on the first level ,but I would not chance it. The Shell can be found by itself on a small island across a large gap of water near the first platform on that level.

2. You can quit out of a level and come back to it later – I know I did. Quitting out of a level is especially important on the last 2 pinball levels…as I highly doubt you will get all the items on those levels on your first try. Unless you are sure you have all items, automatically quit out on your third ball and reenter the game to try again.

3. Likewise, if you pause the game in pinball, no matter where the ball was and how much momentum it had, when you unpause, it will drop straight down. I found this extremely useful in ensuring I got certain pieces on the last 2 pinball levels. Each time.

4. I will give you the total number of pieces that the game counts at the end of each level. If you are playing straight through, the total will accumulate. If you quit out and come back later, the counter will be reset…but that does NOT mean you are screwed.

5. On two of the levels, the item count in the list below does NOT match what the game tells you. Level 1 in particular I played 5 times, and I cannot figure out how the game decides I have 29 pieces of treasure when I clearly counted 28. As a test, I ran through getting only ONE blue crystal and nothing else (save totem pieces). At the end, the game told me I had two?? Treasures. Who knows. I don’t have the time or patience to try to figure It out. I mark those miscounts below.

6. I could not get accurate counts for the pinball bonus levels – but you should get a good idea.

7. Except for the first Level (shell selection area), don't enter bonus areas. I don't know what happens if you do. I got the achievement without entering them.

8. Other than totem pieces, you only need to pick up what is listed below. You do not need to get beds and chests (multipliers). Though I suggest gettign the chests anyway...if you get all those and everything listed below, it is a safe bet you will also get the Score! achievement.

So here you go, a complete list of everything you need to pick up for the perfect achievement. Hope it helps somebody out.

Level 1 - Welcome To Totemball

1 Diamond - in water in bonus shell selection area
7 Blue Crystals - Follow main path to totem 1
3 Blue Crystals - Follow main path past door towards first platform
7 Blue Crystals - Last land area before exit door
1 Animal Figurine - On small island just off exit land area
9 Coins - Bridge pathway (get there from platform behind rocks in final land area)

6 Blue Crystals - Path to ramp after Platform
9 Coins - Going forward on main path instead of taking left to ramp
5 Blue Crystals - On first small Island to totem
5 Green Crystals - On small Island by totem
5 Purple Crystals - On small Island by totem
3 Yellow Crystals - On High Island near pieces above
3 Blue Crystals - Main path, Mid-air (Must get from hitting ramp with decent speed)

*Path to bonus level - look left immediately following landing from ramp. There is a platform hidden in shallow water.

Elsewhere, I saw the following posted, this is a running count of the number of treasures you should see the game displayed as long as you keep going and don't quit out of the game and come back. I can vouch this is accurate up to level 8....after that level I had to quit many, many times.

if you accidently go into a bonus level do you have to restart or all of those item not count against you?
