Brothers to the end? *spoilers*

So apparently "Brothers to the end" now means halfway through the game. Epic decides to kill off Dom in a rather lackluster fashion in the middle of the game (albeit with lovely background music), and in his spot we get even more lackluster replacements. He kills himself not to stop a big bad from killing his allies, not to set off the everything-goes-back-to-normal bomb, but to help his friends escape a horde that you've lived through the past thousand times.

Although the real icing on the cake is that after Dom nobody else dies on the squad (Carmine 3.0 doesn't count cause he's doomed from birth and Adam Fenix isn't in the squad).

O, you didn't find the situation where they are surrounded by countless enemies from all 3 sides (locust, lambent, lambent humans) all bent on nothing more than to kill these 4 people who have: no air support, no land support, no backup, no backup plan, no escape route, and low on ammo. He did what had to be done, and his death was a weight that the other characters had to carry for the rest of the campaign. His act of self-sacrifice, was not only to save his commands, but it was also a way to tell the players "WAKE THE FUCK UP, SHIT JUST GOT REAL, THIS AIN'T NO HALO; WHERE EVERYTHING IS HUNKY DOREY, RIGHT AS RAIN, PEACHES AND CREAM, AND HOKEY POKEY". And without his "rather lackluster fashion" then the "everything-goes-back-to-normal bomb" NEVER would've gone off, and it would end up being, a sad sad ending where everybody dies.

That is my counter rant.

I agree. I felt this was the climax of the game and I really didn't care about the rest of the story after this point because Marcus seemed unaffected except for 2-3 times in cutscenes.

I agree. I was disappointed with the rest of the game after this segment too. Very disappointed. But multiplayer in this game rocks.

Maybe Dom just wanted to go. Not like he had much to hang around for in this life was it? He probably figured it was time to go spend eternity with his ho.

To be honest I thought he'd go at the end during the final battle.

I agree with you sir. I don't get where people are saying this was a lack-luster way for Dom to go as the guy was cut off, surrounded, and honestly had nothing more to live for.
