Chests & Maidens split by level & imo better description
All credit for this goes to DROGTURIST. Got this from the Xbox.com forums.
All right, here we go. Complete list with at least adequate descriptions. You might need some imagination for some of the more hastily written descriptions, and you will definitely need to have beaten the game at least once to know what the descriptions are talking about. It was assumed that the reader would know the levels when writing, as it saved much time and effort. Also worth noting is that the descriptions are kind of interconnected in that descriptions for chests and maidens will reference each other at times, but they're not interconnected in a way that will show you each in order. Chests and maidens are separated, and if you're going for both you need to keep track of the next one in both lists by yourself. Buy the official guidebook if our list isn't fancy enough for you. All chests and maidens found by DROGTURIST, NEKROF3AR & DeathStarkill. Additional help by Everharm, H0LLATIP & GTBJMZ. This was a true community effort and this list wouldn’t have been done without everyone’s help. So send those guys free MS points for their hard work. Level 1 (Prologue) :: 2 Chests, 0 Maidens #1 In the big room where you first encounter living statues. To the west at the base of the stairs. #2 Same room, to the east of the top of the stairs. Level 2 (Chance Meeting) :: 4 Chests, 1 Maiden Chests: #1 Right where you start, head back down/right on the beach. #2 When you first encounter pirates, there's a little alcove to the left. #3 After the first set of vines you destroy, there's a Y-shaped intersection. Head right, smash more vines to the right. #4 When you first meet A'kanna, you'll head up onto a wooden bridge type thing. Kill the first enemies here, and the chest is behind the wooden structure you have to climb to the first slave. Maidens: #1 At the Y intersection mentioned for chest #3, head left and there'll be vines to smash on your left. Level 3 (Pirate Raid) :: 2 Chests, 1 Maiden Chests: #1 In the first big pirate camp, there's a pretty large with two archers on it. And a chest. #2 After you use the second huge crossbow to save A'kannas ship (again), continue forward and a small path will lead down to the right. Chest here. Maidens: #1 Like three feet away from chest #2. Level 4 (Sand Vault) :: 5 Chests, 0 Maidens Chests: #1 After you push over the first pillar and climb up to the ledge it leads to, you'll see a bunch of wooden fences covering openings. There's a chest in the opening furthest from where you climbed, to the left. Watch out for the hard-to-see lion in there. #2 Passing through the room with the three lion cub heads (that you open later) for the first time, you’ll end up in an area where Conan says “I need to get up top” and you push over a pillar. After pushing the first pillar and climbing it, head a few inches left for a very hard to see chest. #3-4 When you enter the room with the first waterfall, after you open the first tiger's head, you climb a wall and face two adjacent wooden gates. Behind these are two chests. #5 While fighting the Sand Dragon, you'll end up climbing a huge statue. After a few climbs, you'll see a scaffolding with a chest on it. You can't miss it. Just don't try to climb your way back from that platform, as Conan will likely miss the ledge and die. Just jump over the gap. Maidens: None. Level 5 (Tribal Warrior) :: 8 Chests, 3 Maidens Chests: #1 Burn the first huts you come across (by picking up a torch and pressing RB by the huts), and the chest is in one of the ones to the right of the field. #2 In the second part of the first hut village (after you burn some bushes), burn some more huts. This one's in one of the huts to the right. #3 In the back part of this same area is what looks like a chieftans hut or something, built by cloth and tusks. Burn it and find the chest inside. #4 To the left in this area is a slightly hard to spot hut with a chest inside it. #5 By the exit out of this area is another hut by an archer tower. Burn. #6 Past the area you just left, you'll run into two lions and eventually two spear-bearers. Pass all of these and continue left (ie, don't climb up) and you'll see some burnable bushes against the mountain wall. Go grab a torch and climb up to find a chest and some healing. #7 Pass through the tusk doors later in this same area, and you'll end up in an area where the tribesmen destroy a bridge to stop you. Head left here, and you'll run into two lions and a chest. #8 At the bottom of the second wind chime tower, inside a burnable hut. Maidens: #1 Straigh up from chest #1, chained to a giant elephant tusk by the cliffs. #2 Right next to chest #6. #3 On the first wind chime tower. You cannot possibly miss this one unless you're blind. Level 6 (Elephant Graveyard) :: 2 Chests, 3 Maidens Chests: #1 Right at the start of the level, after “saving” A’kanna only to have her taken away by another gorilla, a hole will open up for you to drop down. Don’t. Head backwards to the left and you’ll see a health jar up on a ledge. Climb up and the chest is in the back here. #2 Following the path after the skull wall mentioned for Maiden #2, you'll see a big tar pit to the right. Approach it and a gorilla breaks a wall and opens a cave with a chest in it. Maidens: #1 After "saving" A'kanna for the first time, you'll end up in a cave where you'll eventually see a white gorilla standing on an upwards slope. Follow it up and a wall will be smashed by a brown gorilla. The girl's in there. #2 A little while later, in the same cave as #1, you'll end up at a wall of skulls you need to break down using a chain. The maiden is right next to the chain. #3 To open your path through, you need to climb up and make a big rock roll. A maiden is right by the wall you need to climb Level 7 (Midnight Raid) :: 7 Chests, 2 Maidens Chests: #1 Follow the path up until you hit a canyon (within seconds of starting the stage), follow the canyon to the end and find a chest. #2-4 When you first hit a little enemy village with a bunch of tents, set the tents on fire to find three chests inside a few of them. #5-6 Inside the first ship, the door to the left. #7 Inside the second ship, door on the right. Maidens: #1 At the end of the dock by the first ship. #2 At the end of the dock by the second ship. Level 8 (Outpost) :: 8 Chests, 7 Maidens Chests: #1 A few seconds after the level starts, you'll find some enemies hanging around a campfire. They're guarding a chest. #2 After the campfire guys, you'll be tempted to walk through the door the enemies are guarding. Don't. Keep heading right-wards and you'll end up on a dock, at the end of which some big bats are guarding a chest. #3 A while into the level, you'll run into a bunch of huge bats hanging around a canyon. Furthest in the canyon is a chest. #4 Right after the canyon, you climb ledges up a mountain wall. Almost at the top, you'll notice one of the ledges sticks to the left. Jump toward it and keep jumping left to land on a big ledge that holds a chest. #5 At the top of the ledge-climbing mentioned for chest #4, to the left, out of view of the camera as you climb up. #6 You enter a building, and a few rooms down you come to a T-shaped intersection with a pullable chain to the left and a smashable door to the right. Enter the door and kill the captain to claim your prize. #7 A short while after finding maidens #5-6, you'll be climbing a thin ledge outside of a large-ish entrance. The camera will focus hard on the entrance and want to trick you into thinking there's nothing more to the right, but there's a chest there. #8 At the bottom of the tower with the large spiral staircase leading to the boss. You can't miss the glow when you enter this room. Maidens: #1 After the sequence of chests #3-5, before you walk over the bridge, you'll see a door to the left-ish. Smash it and enter to find a girl hanging out. #2 Same room as chest #6. #3-4 Both are in the same room, a room you have to pass to clear the level. Unmissable, but the room has lots of torture devices hanging from the ceiling and it might be possible to miss the girl leaning against the rightmost wall. #5-6 A few rooms after maidens #3-4, you enter a larger outdoor area with a bonfire in the middle. Two girls are chained to poles here. These guys know how to party. #7 Same place as chest #7. Level 9 (Devil Island) :: 5 Chests, 2 Maidens Chests: #1 After climbing some mountain walls, you end up on a ledge leading to the left and a drop down to another ledge. Don't drop down and follow the first ledge to a little cave with a chest. This is all within a minute of playtime on this level, or even less. #2 When the mountainous area of the level ends, you'll end up in a courtyard with a huge crossbow you can use to smash statues. Climb up to the second lever (for opening the huge entrance), and you'll see a staircase leading up to the left. Follow it to a climbable tower, and the chest will be up there. #3-4 In the large in-door room where you pull chains to drop a chandelier on the floor, there are staircases on both sides of the room, leading to rooms with chests in them. #5 After climbing the outside wall of the huge building you were just in, and running into some bats and ending up on a balcony, you can smash a wooden gating to the left and head onwards to find a chest. Maidens: #1 Through the entrance doors mentioned for chest #2, you can head left and find a girl in a little alcove. #2 In the leftmost room mentioned for chests #3-4, there’s a smashable door to the north. Inside you’ll find a girl and a captain that seems annoyed that you interrupted them. Last edited by asdfen; 10-08-2010 at 05:57 AM. |

Level 10 :: 0 Chests, 0 Maidens
This is the squid boss fight level. It has no secrets, but I list it to avoid confusing the level numberings as this bossfight counts as its own level. Level 11 (Fallen Kingdom) :: 7 Chests, 3 Maidens Chests: #1 Head straight from the start until you hit a courtyard-ish area with lots of enemies and a kickable cart (with a green triumvirate marker under it) and look to your right. You should see some chest glow behind some barrels. #2 Drop down from the balcony you end up on after climbing the first awning, and you'll see an enemy squad with a captain standing in front of a house with large pillars and staircases between them. Head in behind the pillars and you'll find a chest there. #3 Climb the second awning and smash the wooden gate that's right to your left. Chest right behind that. #4 From #3, head over the bridge you're supposed to drop down from and continue right towards another chest. #5 From #4, head back to the bridge and drop down. To your left right when you land is a smashable door with a chest behind it. #6-7 When you get to the area where three archers are firing at you from a balcony you can't get to, kill them by throwing weapons at them and two chests will appear in the next room. Sometimes the chests seem to be there without killing the archers, and sometimes not. Better to kill them to be sure, as you can’t go back if the chests aren’t there. Maidens: #1 Follow the ropes on the right from the start of the level until there's a gap. Drop down and find the girl tied to a water wheel. #2 After climbing the first awning in the level, you can go right or left. Left continues the level, right heads to a dead-end hosting a maiden. #3 Right close to where chest #2 was, there is a lion holding pen. Go inside it and pull a chain to free a girlie. Level 12 (Well of Dreams) :: 3 Chests, 2 Maidens Chests: #1 When you enter the canyon-ish area where you throw stone objects onto statues to open a door, the chest is in the ruins directly to your left. #2 In the first cave, you'll come to a tar pit area with some monkeys and spear-bearers and a wall that is broken down by a white gorilla. To the left of this area is a ledge you can jump up to from the tar pit. Chest up here. #3 At one point in the level, you'll be jumping from ledge to ledge while big drops of tar fall from the sky. At the end of this ledge sequence, you can drop down to a hidden balcony below. Maidens: #1 Same area as chest #1, this maiden is unmissable as you have to pass her to throw a rock. #2 Describing this location is kind of hard. After you pass chest #3, you'll keep walking some and pass a skull wall with a chain you need to rip out. Past this there's a bridge over the path you're on. Climb up, kill the white gorilla and head over the bridge to find the girl. Level 13 (Spire) :: 6 Chests, 0 Maidens Chests: #1 In the second room, you can see a statue to the right as you enter. Head up to and kill him, and smash the wall behind where he stood. #2 Head straight left from chest #1 and it'll be on the bottom left. #3-4 After the big room where you push blue pillars to make parts of the ceiling fall and make bridges for you, you'll enter an oddly shaped room with two little dead-ends. Each of the ends has a chest in it. #5 In the next room after chests #3-4, you'll see a breakable wall straight ahead. Break it and watch out for the blue ghost in there. #6 A few rooms and a drop-down from chest #5, you'll enter a room where two statues are standing in the middle of the screen. Activate and kill them and smash the rightmost wall and you'll find a chest. The other wall only has, oddly enough, a save point behind it. Maidens: None. Level 14 (Dark Prison) :: 5 Chests, 0 Maidens Chests: #1 Right when you start, head up-left into an area with a small tar pit and a chest. Do NOT enter the area straight to the left yet, as that area closes off and you can't go back for the chest. #2 After making and crossing a bridge (by pushing a pillar) that falls down, and falling down a large falling platform you'll be in an area with some steps, two statues and a breakable wall you must pass through to the right of the room. Below the stairs and to the right are some tar pits, and a chest. #3 In the same room as chest #2, kind of on the opposite side of the room, by the leftmost statue. #4 Right in the next room after chest #3. Completely unmissable. #5 Before the final door you can open in the game, you fight three statues and a whole mess of ghosts and tar men. Defeat these and smash the walls behind where the statues once stood, and you’ll find some healing, magic and a chest. Maidens: None. |

Thanks a lot for this guide. I actually have the Conan Brady game guide for xbox 360 and ps3 consoles. It's an alright guide, it tells you how many of each item are in every level, but sometimes it will skip over the more hidden items. There's even been a few times while using the Brady guide where it doesn't even mention a chest, and another time it marked a chest when it was really a maiden. So to have a guide like this where someone put the work in and did it right helps out a ton. The description is superb as well. Kudos!
