A few questions (mostly RE:Region locking)

Is Monster Hunter Frontier online-only? Does it have region locking (I'm assuming it does)? Even if it has region lock, could I somehow buy a Japanese 360, recover my gamertag on it and snag even just offline achievements in the U.S.? I'm TOTALLY willing to blow a wad on a Japanese 360 just to play Monster Hunter, achievements or not; In fact, it's the same damned reason I bought a Wii (which'll hit eBay IMMEDIATELY after a 360 or PC Monster Hunter comes out)

Yes I have the game and yes it's region locked so it does not work on my xbox. It comes with a 12 month Live code and a ton of in game codes that I think expire or expired already which kinda sucks. Right now I'm trying to find a easy and successful way to region unlock my xbox so I don't have to go buy another one just to play one game. Then the next factor is the game itself is IP locked as well, unless of course you happen to live in Cali and get lucky with your IP. So if you wanna help me out and or help eachother out let me know as I want to play this game as well. I can even help you get MS points too if you don't wanna spend tons of money them!

If there's one place you can go for help on this its se7ensins. They might be able to help with region unlocking and maybe IP as well.

Blackrob, if you happen to give up on it (as I am sure you will have to, there is no way to trick with the region lock in a way that you can stay online with your box, which for this game is essential), let me know. I would be happy to buy it for a fair, but well discounted price...

Then I could at least try how it is with playing the game on an ntsc-j console but outside Japan.

Well, if anyone has this info already, it would be great if you could share it.

lol Yea I talked to a friend who told me all the details on the region thing and yea there really isn't much of a way around it. At least not a good one without buying a JP xbox of course. Go buy the game yourself lol it comes with a 12 month Live code free so if you buy it where I got mine from, the game would technically only cost you about $14 if you get nothing else out of it. Where are you from anyway? Also you do know it's IP locked right?

You can't get around region locking and get on XBL at the same time. Well you can, for 2 hours until your console's banned. If you want to play Japanese games online just get a Japanese 360. I'm guessing to play Monster Hunter Online you'll have to use a Japanese 360 along with the VPN trick to trick Xbox Live into thinking you're in Japan. It's a lot of effort to go to... And VPN trick is against the Terms of Service. So yeah!

No there is no offline, game is online only
