Tips for A rank Achievements

I am having so much trouble getting the A rank Goalie and i havent attempted the others yet but what is wrong iv had A+ A+ and A- and still no achieve

Are you definately on Pro difficulty? It should pop then with A+A+A-, also make sure you get a shut out, thats how i got mine.

It's also based off the average goalie rating so if you have played through numerous games as the goalie then you will have to average an A over all those games. It's easiest done on the first try so if you don't want to delete your profile you can try recovering your gt on a different 360.

Yeah since its based on averages, you definately want to get it from the first game. Also make sure if you dont get it on your first try exit from your be a pro without saving saving and then reload your profile, do not save your profile after a game with bad stats or you will have those bad stats bringing your average down.

Also found a VERY easy way to do these.

Basic method:

1. Start with clean profile sim games to 5 min mark of third and get all A's. (If you dont get all A's then exit season without saving and reload profile so it doesnt keep the previous games stats.)

2. Play the next game fully, dont need stats in this game just need a full game for achievment to unlock at the end of.

The details:

Just sim the game an intervene in the 3rd period to play the last five mintues. I found when only palying these five minutes you will most likely get A range for Position and Teampaly grades - apparently its such a short amount of time they don't expect much from you. The only thing that requires any sort of skill/effort on your part is getting the Stats to be in the A range.

For a goalie you just need a few saves, and im sure winning the game and shutout will help too (it was 3-2 for my team when I intervened, made a couple easy saves and that was enough for me).

For center/defense/winger you just need to get a point (goal or assist) and youll be golden for Stats. So you can keep resimming/loading till you manage to get one, or even easier, just keep simming till you get a score where your team is ahead by 1 or 2 goals. This will ensure the other team will pull thier goalie (usually around the 1:00 min mark). Obviously an empty net makes it much easier to get a point. So try to get possesion and score yourself or assist on a goal.

(When I got this for D and W, I was completely ignoring the postition arrow trying to steal the puck from the other team till I got the puck and put it in the empty net. Still got an A for Position so really jsut do whatever you need to to score.)

Doing this will earn you the achievement. However, it doesnt unlock at the end of the game, because it wasnt a full one it seems. To get it to unlock just play the next game of the season. You don't even have to touch the controller jsut let the game run out and it recognizes you met the requirement from the last game and the achievement will pop up.

For those curious I did all mine in NHL pro seasons, chose good teams and good palyers - Crosby, Fluery, D. Seden, S. Neidermayer. It was jsut easier for simming and scoring with a good palyer/ good teamates.

Anyways these achievements can be done very easily with minimal skill this way. Just have to make sure you set thing up the right way.

I know this is late, but I don't think you have to avearge an A through (x) amount of games, you only need to average an "A" in "A" game.

It is based on your average, but your theory is correct if it's the first game in a career.

Question, and this may be answered for me in a couple minutes as I play a couple more games, but is it possible to get the A rank achievements after having the difficulty set to Rookie for several games? I started a LW NHL Be A Pro career on Rookie to get the 3 Goal/3 Assist achievements, and forgot I needed to be on Pro for the A Rank achievements. I'm now 8 games in, with an average ranking of A-.

EDIT: You indeed can earn the achievement after playing several games on Rookie. I just lost a game 4-3 in the shootout with my stats ending A+, A-, and A+. I don't know if it counted just that game for my overall stats, or all the games I played on Rookie as well, but for that one game I came out with an A rank.

I just wanted to let you guys know this trick does work like a charm yes indeed and make sure when going for the goalie be a pro ach that you put the settings to 10 mins and not 5, when u intervene in the 3rd period make sure you have a shutout going for you and intervene with 5 mins left in the game, u should have A+s across the board, next game I played a complete game, gave up 9 goals and still got the ach because of my previous game, now time to work on the other 3 position achs.

I just did this getting an A- in my previous game I played a full game allowing only 2 goals and no achievement. as my winger set on pro i've averaged an A- grade in about 80 or so games and still no achievement difficulty is set to pro. I have messed with the sliders but why no achievement? it's really starting to bug me.

I just did this myself after playing an entire season on Rookie. However, I am also unsure if this means in 1 game get an overall ranking of A or average. I am suspecting it's in 1 game because I had several times hit A in my previous BAP character and no achievement. I also scored a A- overall grade with my goalie simming a game to the last 5 mins then playing a full game earning a B+ grade and no achievement.

I just did this an no achievement. i got an A+ A+ and an A- in my simmed game just finished my needed full game and no achievement. I've even played a full game and got and A overall grade. Hell I've even got a shut out with an A overall grade and still no achievement.

jrath05 i tried your solution again and well 4th times a charm. the only thing i did differently from the other 3 tries was i didn't save between simming my A grades and playing the next game. my a goalie pro unlocked .1 seconds before the full game ended.

thanks for the tips.

also for those reading this it isn't hard to get the winger center and defensiveman pro's using NHL players just before you start the game turn the shot accuracy and power up all the way, turn penalties offsides and icing off, and make sure it's on pro.

for my Winger i played Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals) got 3 assists and 1 goal
for my Center i used Sindney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins) i scored 6 goals
for my Defensive player I used Chris Pronger (Anaheim Ducks)just poked checked alot and scored 1 goal.

awesome guide man...could not get the goalie pro to save my life until I tried this and it popped first try...5 min periods worked just fine for me didn't need 10 mins
