Ending Question

I have the Game of the Year Edition and I am near the ending. I heard to stop and save before going into the Jefferson Memorial because the game ends right there and I cannot play after the ending. But then I heard in another thread that this has been patched.

So whats true? And if it has been patched can I still do everything and get all the achievements after I have completed the ending?

If you have the Game of the Year edition, you're safe. There's nothing to patch to "fix" it from happening without the DLC. It's because of what happens at the end that you can't continue. Just make sure your DLC is installed, and you'll be fine.
