Private Player Match OK for Heavyweight?

Hey guys,
I was hoping one of you could answer this question for me. I searched the forums, but did not find an answer. I was wondering if I am allowed to play in Private Player Matches for the Heavyweight (10,000 kills in MP) achievement? I just want to make sure before I get too far, in order to not waste any time. I appreciate the help.

EDIT: NVM, I finally got the achievement. I've had this game since it came out, and I know I've racked up some kills, I was at ~6800 (by recording) and I hadn't unlocked it yet, so I was just making sure. Mods, you can lock this, or keep this open if it might be useful to know that the achievement can be unlocked in Private matches. Thanks anyways!
