There's probably another thread for this exact purpose, but I can't find it.
This thread is aimed at expanding the musical horizons of xbox360a users. I have a fairly wide music taste, so I'll kick it off with two very different tracks on my iPod. So yeh, Go ahead, give us all something that we should listen to. It can be something that you think personifies a genre, something you've recently discovered, an old favourite, or a lost love. Happy listening! ^.^ |

Nice Thread here
![]() I'd just suggest that we stick to youtube videos and "special" songs, we got other Threads for Favs and stuff. Actualy i was about to post on "Song of the day" but this suits even better . So i'll add some more songs i just stumbled upon today, after a decade literally. The '93 anti-NeoNazi song "Cry for love" by Die Ärzte FYI Die Ärzte ("The Physicians" or "The Doctors", German pronunciation: diː ˈʔɛːɐ̯tstə is a punk band from Berlin. Die Ärzte are one of the best-known German punk rock bands and have released over 20 albums since 1982. They had trouble in the late 80s with the BPjM (Federal Department for "youth-harming" Media) because of some songs about different stuff i'm not sure if i can tell here, so they got 2 albums on the "index". This prohibited the band from performing the songs live or promoting two albums and, more importantly, shops were prohibited from openly displaying these records. I'm obviously not going to post theese. Btw.: that "Metal umlaut" on the Ä is in common use here, they're making fun of it sometimes by adding a third dot to it. Here we go, "Cry for love" The '93 song "Peace-tank" (sry couldn't find better Quality with subs) 2003 love song to Rockmusic and about "unrockable" girlfriends ![]() A song about revenge on the guy always trying to pick on you 1995 "A song about censorship" from 1998 Another one about it, well...the video. DepecheMode like sounding "Please, please" 1988 "Hooray!" a half ironic song about the fall of the Berlin wall with kinda pointless "everything is nice" lyrics. It hit the spirit of times back in '95 Hope you enjoy! ![]() Edit: @ Zero 0.o Holy Ice Cream that was just retarded, i kinda like the beat at the end where he shuts up at around 2min though. Thanks for giving some good stuff to calm down afterwards

I agree on the youtube video front. The plan was to have songs being suggested as opposed to albums... Haha Nice. Not listened to nay punk for a while, might have to go and find me my NOFX albums...
I appreciate the mind numbing nature of Dubstep, and I'll try to only put the best stuff I can find on here... ![]() Today's track (for now) is The Futureheads - Hounds of Love. It's a kate Bush song, but I couldn't find a decent vid of Kate Bush performing the song... -.- |

I didn't use the genre that MySpace classifies them as, I just classified them according to what they were closest to out of the categories I listed.
And for Of Mice & Men, you could consider them post-hardcore, but most of the post-hardcore bands I listed sound lighter on the non-hardcore parts, so I just went with Hardcore when classifying them.

New suggestion:
Awesome Band with loads of great songs, usualy less raggea - more punk/ska. Lyrics: We've had enough We've had enough of the politicians We've had enough yeah Of these politician's wars All we need right now is love We've had enough of these military scoreboards What we need right now is love, come on 2x We've had enough of these politician's wars All we need right now is love We've had enough of these military scoreboards All we need right now is love Turn it up The future is held in the hands Who right the textbooks Ignorance is bred when falsified thinking is taught To the youth instead of Past mistakes and mind elevation, Like the graves that manifest destiny has created So we can build our Capitalist consumer based economy, To build, market, And sell commodities we don't need But we are trained to believe like celebrity imaging Well I'm here to take my feelings back and I hope That you will be with me 5x I can't wait for that day When I hear us all screaming. Ahhhhhhhhh I can't wait for the day When I hear us all screaming, HERE COMES THE REVOLUTION. When every race color And creed of militant human beings stand up With fists together for substance and true meaning Because right now we got our feet stuck in cement We're too caught up in A material status quo punishment And one thing is for sure And that's the sun will always set, Darling you can bet our moon is quite the opposite So baby take a axe to your makeup kit Set ablaze the billboards and their advertisements Love with all your hearts and never forget How good it feels to be alive And strive for your desire Just cause you can't see Your cage doesn't mean that you are free When there are laws against nature But its ok for you to be Addicted to over the counter prescriptions And magazines dictate all our human relations I'm not buying, no I'm not giving in To a culture that objectifies all of our women I'm not buying, no I'm not consuming The apathetic dribble on the news media's chin I'm not buying, no I'm not giving in The lies that are sold through textbooks to children I'm not buying, no I'm not consuming Cause the positive will Always overcome the negative right And we stay inside, its right outside, We stand in line We all enjoy the fences to keep it at bay But I'm not giving in |
