Dying while jacking the UFO

Anyone die seemingly every other time you try to jack a UFO? The turret isn't facing me and/or is shooting in a different direction and I somehow die. I've died just after tearing the cover off and the pod was opening.

There are a few glitches to the game, but it's not too bad; not good either.

It happened to me a few times and i just counted it up to the vehicle running into something or getting caught in a crossfire with 2 others vehicles.

It had it spells with me, when it kept crashing it did it like constantly for about minutes and then went back to normal... weird stuff.

although i have experienced this phenominon... i chalk it up to crossfire also, it's also pretty rare. I just picked this up on sale for 19.99 at futureshop (Canada). Good purchase!

I'm not fully certain, but when I was playing, I think the cause was that the hubcap bumped into something hard and solid. Like, some terrain. And as it did, you were placed between a hubcap and a hard place. Given the general glitchiness of the game, I can see it bumping against something and giving you an insta-death from the physics engine. You'd think they might instead take that into account, knock you off and let you fall, maybe do some serious damage (if you're already hurting, then yeah, you could die), but at least give you a chance. Right now, it's simply quirky luck that could ruin your current play.

Of course, it could be worse programming; it could be that the 'shooting' logic gets messed up, and you suddenly get the brunt of it even when it's not shooting. Given all the other issues, I wouldn't put it past this game.
