Help with Freestyle Tutorial!

What's with this tutorial? The instructions says jump and rotate right analog to perform freestyle stunts, i did and got 1250pts to fill up the stunt meter and thats when the 'Y' prompt appears above the stunt meter, when i press Y the meter depletes and i fail the lesson.....what am doing wrong here? Somebody please help!

I guess you just need to perform it once and land correctly so you get the points and then the remaining of the tutorial doesn't matter. Once you reach the finish you'll finish that lesson.
