AFI: Silver and Cold (it was my little girls song before she passed away)

Breaking Benjamin: Sugarcoat (reminds me how my exgirlfriends were total bitches)

Nine Inch Nails: Everyday is Exactly the Same (reminds me not to be a slave to life)

Rise Against: Education (Through Labor) (reminds me not to strive to be perfect in others eyes because it won't matter just that I need to love myself)

Neil Diamond: Sweet Caroline (this is just a good song period)

Yeah uh Arvo Parts piece Spiegel Im Spiegel reminds me of the time me and my buddy drove out into the desert but we lost our car and my friend died just before we found the way out.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Growing Up: This song just speaks about my current state. No money, no idea of a future, but unfortunately, I'm not putting forth any effort. "Growing up really fuckin' sucks, I've fallen down and I can't get up, and soon I'm not going to bother, I'm going to lay on the ground til I die, and I'm afraid I don't care."

A Drum and an Open Window - Hanging Out in Parking Lots at Night:
Reminds me of the last summer of High School. Before all my best friends went away to college.

A Drum and an Open Window - Psalm 27 or 38: This song is just telling you to live your life for yourself and absolutely nobody else. Though you have to live by life's rules, it's nice to think that you don't have to.

Ghost Mice - Cementville: Just reminds me of my childhood and the innocence and imagination I once had. When illicit drugs didn't rule my life. When I was able to carry around a plastic sword and pretend to fight off evil spirits with my friends.

Michale Graves - Crying on a Saturday Night: Now before I begin, I realize this song was by The Misfits, however, Michale Graves has now gone solo, released an acoustic album, and played this song and it gives it a totally different feeling. It's not a specific feeling that comes to me when I listen to this song, I'm just attacked with random feelings every time. It's beautiful.

Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life: Now I'm aware that this song is really about drugs, but it's not what it means to me. This song reminds me of growing up, since this is the music I used to listen to. Brings me back to the early days in middle school, which again, was back when I could have fun without needing another substance.

Tiger Army - Cupid's Victim: Just an overall beautiful song that gets me pumped.

10 Years - Wasteland: Has made me realize that I need to change the way I'm living my life. People are trying to help me, such as my close friends, parents, other family members, etc. I just never listened.

Sorry, maybe I took this thread a little too seriously. Notice that a lot of songs that mean something to me are folk-punk?

Marilyn Manson: mOBSCENE, aside from the great music and female chorus I have to admit that it definitely breaks the barriers on censorship thus telling one to fully express themselves without any shame.

Nine Inch Nails: The Hand That Feeds, a cold splash of reality to all of us about not just sitting around and complaining about any injustices but rather act upon our words. Actually wrote an essay on this song and got an excellent grade.

Yeah, they're phenomenal. I've seen them live twice and each time they put on a great show as well. Overall a very well-rounded band.

The way I view songs is a bunch of words combined poetically to charm the listener into a trance like state (this happens to me sometimes as well). Some song speak about feelings and daily life while others speak about sex, drugs, ect. I am not one to care about the feelings of those who I do not personally know. However, I do enjoy comical music and just plain music (no words, such as classical or any instrument).

I will try to find some stuff that has words that I can even give meaning to.

Metalocalypse's DethKlok - Dethharmonic, The government is bad and wants to take your belongings. Thus they need to be abolished.

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train, Life is an unfixable road that we all take; yet we continue to try and fix it. Trains are dangerous.

The Black Mages - Otherworld, Do not allow yourself to be controlled and remove the obstacles by any means necessary.

Yes, that is all I can think of at this moment.

I recently found the sound track of Silent Hill 2 on YouTube so that has been keeping my ears occupied for this week. Can't really give meaning to the music in that game but rather that it sets up the atmosphere when you're in a pitch black room.

Blink 182 - Stay Together For The Kids
The reason it means alot -
one sentance in particular, "Will you remember this night, 20 years now lost"
it was playing when i was with a girl who i liked alot back in school, and things never developed from that night,
they got worse, so i wonder if she'll remember that night in 20 years, i still do although it was 7 years ago, 13 more to go.

A Day To Remember - You Had Me @ Hello
the reason it means alot - again girl related.
pretty much my favourite band at the time, i introduced this song
to a girl and she instantly fell in love with it. we saw this band literally a week later and met them, they signed some cds for us. well on Valentines day i put her favourite lyric from that song in her card. she really liked it, but again as allways with me it didnt work out and we didnt get back together (we were on and off for 3 years) the lyric was "Would it be okay if i took your breathe away"

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Your Guardian Angel
The reason it means alot - Supprise Supprise its girl related again,
but fortunatly this time it's about my current girlfriend, i introduced this song to her and she's a big fan of it. in a birthday card for her i printed the lyrics out and stuck them in the card (old fashioned cornyness) and she really appriciated it. so i guess it's kinda our song really.

Over And Over - Hot Chip. Every time I hear this song I think of my best friends sister (because I used to have a crush on her) but also that when this song came on at parties we came up with a sweet dance to it. Now that we both live in separate countries, we try get other people to do it but its just not the same.

I Was Drunk - Riva Starr. I must have listened to this song over 500 times in the space of 2 weeks and it reminds me of my close friends and my GF because we always listen to it and everyone we know knows the dance moves to it.

Southside, Mr White and Better - No clue who any of them are by. At the end of my Audio Engineering Diploma and Film Diploma, I listened to these songs because they chilled me out and I would work alot better. Every time I hear these songs it takes me back to those final few weeks.

Pjanoo - Eric Prydz
. For some reason this song gves me confidence, even though I am self confident and don't give a shit about what other people say/think, I need it for doing something rational like asking a girl out.

Sexy Chick - AKON ft David Guetta. First time we heard it we all thought it said Sexy Fridge, but this brings back memories of the fun we had filming a friends film and coming up with crappy sexual enuendo's like "Can I put my milk in your fridge".

The Dubliners - Seven Drunken Nights: I love this song. I love how it's about discovering your wife is cheating on you and yet remains cheery. Makes me feel good.

It's so hard to find the 7 verse version of this song.

Lady Gaga - Any song: Her songs means a lot to me, they're very inspirational. Because if she can become famous, obviously talent is not an issue.

Old Blind Dogs - Pills of White Mercury: The only upbeat ode to syphilis that I know of..

Redneck - Lamb of God - It makes me want to kick someone's ass... Well most LoG songs make me want to kick someone's ass. Except Grace, that song makes me feel better after a shitty day but it is badass in it's own way.

Suicide
Note I, II - Pantera - This reminds me for when i tried to kill myself, and after i was saved (i tried to overdose) at the hospital, i realized that there is more stuff waiting to to happen and i should not do really dumb stuff like that.

Cemetery Gates - Pantera
- This song reminds me of all of my family members who died, and how much they played a role in my life. I heard this song sometime after my aunt died of cancer about 3 years back, it also reminds me of a girl friend who was hit by a car who i have known since i was 4, real big loses but this song is great, it shows how much Pantera is great without the Cowboys from hell or with walk.

Disciple - Slayer - Shows my hatred to people i hate... With lyrics like "God hates us all, god hates us all.." it really makes me think of how much i hate most people and how they hate me.

Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots - I don't give a shit what anyone thinks about this song. It's one of the best songs ever made. This takes me back when i played it for a girl i really liked, the good and bad times with her. It ended with heartbreak but the songs remains.

Little bit sappy, but also dark.

Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff - So this song pretty much perfectly describes how I feel everyday. I wake up pissed off at nothing and end up taking it out on everyone else.

Machine Head - Down to None - This song means a lot to me because of the way I am, no matter what, I won't let anybody be the master of me, I'll bow down to no one.

Crowbar - All I Had (I Gave) - All you've got is never enough for some people ¬_¬.

H2O - What Happened? - Anyone sick of this fashion before passion bullcrap? Shit like that is killing music, it seems like these days to get anywhere in music you need to have a daft fringe and drainpipe jeans, its destroying the music scene around here, nothing but faggoty "deathcore" and metalcore bands.

Throwdown - Forever - I'm straight edge, so this one is pretty self explanatory.

Sick Of It All - Take The Night Off - So this is what I put on when I've just about had enough of people bawwing at me. It actually puts me in a moderately good mood, and helps me deal with the constant bombardment of whinging. It makes me want to go out and have a good fight for some reason too...

Great song by a great band! Awesome message as well. I wish some people would just give it a listen and change their terrible ways.

Like Light To Flies - Trivium - The lyrics don't have much of a meaning but it was the first full song I learned to play on my guitar. Including all rhythms, all leads, etc.

96 Quite Bitter Beings - cKy - Again, the lyrics don't have much of a meaning to me but it reminds me of when life was simpler for me. No job, no bills, no obligations. Just school, skateboard, listen to music, and have fun.

Empire - Queensryche - Reminds me of Christmas in 1992. When I was 5 and Christmas day was the best thing in the world.

Anything by Pantera - Need I say more?

Enter Sandman - Metallica - It was the first song I played on my Talkboy way back in like 1992 or 1993. It was also the first time I had ever heard the song. Again, reminds me of Christmas back when I was a kid. Yeah, I love the Christmas season. Ha.

Actually, yes... I don't see any redeeming qualities of Pantera. Never have, probably never will. In my opinion, it's the weakest project that Phil Anselmo has ever worked on. I much prefer Down and Superjoint Ritual.

Dimebag getting killed was probably the best thing to happen to the popularity of Pantera. Much like Cobain with Nirvana.

The Passing - Lamb of God: I get such an apocalypse vibe from this. Very amazing feeling. I actually feel loss from hearing it. Especially when it is loud.

Win One For The Reaper: I think of my father who passed away when I was 12. Very hard to this day to remember. And it makes me thank God for what he has given me. Great song IMO.

Down is great.

I like Superjoint Ritual but it is too cluttered most of the time.

Pantera has always been an extremely popular band. The murder of Dimebag most likely increased album sales for Pantera slightly but they had already amassed a giant fanbase long before that. Sure there are Dimebag muder related bandwagon jumpers but they don't compare to the original fans. As for Nirvana... well, I just don't like them. Just my opinion though.

There are many songs for me but there are two that come to my mind which have a special meaning for me.

First, there is the song "Bleed" from Cold. Especially the part when he sings:
"Presence of people not for me.
Well I must remain in tune forever.
My love is music...I will marry melody"

Music is so important for me and this song just says what I feel and think.

The second one is "Bullet Ride" from In Flames. It reminds me of a time when life was fucked up and I didn't know how to go on. It is still one of my favourite songs and it's so powerful. It says everything what I feel when life "is the dark that binds you".
This song has a special part too. First the guitar solo and then the part:
"It's the cowardice that pulls you under.
And takes you to the end, where it begins.
Release, the world is waiting for your arrival.
Close your eyes, as we witness another bullet ride."

Oh, there is one more. "Square Nothing" from In Flames.
I can relate to the "demons of mine"-phrase in this song. I love when he sings "I like the way you struggle but you know I'm here to win." For me it means that sometimes you can't run away from your "demons". They're still there no matter what you try or do.
