Finally getting an XBox 360!

Hello y'all. I am going to briefly introduce myself here.

First of all, my name is John. I'm a 20-year old full-time student (in college) from Kansas (US). I've been playing games my whole life. I've owned pretty much everything except for an XBOX

. I'm a huge fan of the Sony PlayStation series and of course I've got a PS3 as well as a PS2. I sold my PS1 ages ago. I'm also a member on PS3Trophies.org so you'll find me posting there quite often.

I'm a trophy hunter which I guess is a lot similiar to achievement/cheevo hunters?? Hopefully somebody can clarify that for me haha. I'm not sure if I"m going to become a cheevo hunter since I put a lot of time into my PS3 games.

My hobbies are of course gaming and sports. I am a member of a lot of forums since I enjoy conversing with tons of different people. Alot times when I'm gaming, I'll have my laptop with tons of windows popped up haha. Bad? I know

.

Anyway, what encouraged me to finally decide to get an XBOX 360 is mostly due to the fact that I enjoy the Grand Theft Auto series and was disappointed to hear that the recent DLC releases were only on XBOX

. Well, I don't mind forking a little dough for an early Xmas gift to me

. I plan on selling some of my PS3 games and buying a used XBOX 360 (60GB) from Gamestop and buying the DLC for GTAIV and maybe Modern Warfare 2.

As of right now, I think my gamertag will be jmowen89 same as my PSN. Not sure if it's taken yet but feel free to add me. I'll post on here when I get everything set up.

I'm really looking forward to gaming on another level and seeing what this site has to offer and helping out as much as I can.

welcome to the site and stuff. lol. but seriously, if youre a trophy hunter, i think youre gonna like achievement hunting a tad bit more... well hopefully.

and we cant really add you if you havent made a gamertag yet, but once you do feel free to add me if you like. i have gta4 and will definitely be gettin MW2 once it comes out.

Thanks everyone! I just bought my very first XBox 360

. Right now, I'm in the process of trying to set up a wireless connection but it's taking forever to figure it out haha. I can set up my wireless easily on my PS3 but not on the XBox

. I'll figure it out eventually and I'll inform y'all when it's all set up.

By the way, I only bought GTAIV to start with so maybe I'll do some cheevo hunting on that game soon

Thanks and I just figured that I needed one of those lol. I'm thinking it was like my PS3 and had like some sort of wi-fi compatibility haha. My friend is going to give me one tonight or tomorrow so I'll be online in no time

Haha well guys I'm all set! A friend of mine gave me his wireless adapter and free year-long online subscription so I'm stoked to start playing online again

. Well, tomorrow that is. I'm going out for now. It's Saturday night haha

Feel free to add me. My gamertag is now jmowen89. As I mentioned, I have GTAIV at the moment. I dunno if I'm going to get Modern Warfare 2 for XBOX on launch day but we'll see. If you ya'll want to boost GTAIV feel free to add me for boosting or just for fun. I have two headsets (free too

Madhatters: Thanks for the welcome as well. My sig shows how many trophies I have now so about 350 I think? Not alot but I started trophy hunting in August when I got my first platinum. 800 is a good number man. I'm sure I could reach that by the end of the year but Modern Warfare 2 is going to take SO much of my time lol.

Thanks man and nice name by the way! Are there 324 other members with the name Superbad?? Haha just kidding. Yeah the PS3 kicks ass but the XBOX has it own set of unique(ness) haha.

I'm growing more and more fond of it as we speak as I'm finding loads of new stuff one minute after another. I signed up for Netflix and now I can watch movies anytime! Now that kicks ass even more! I'm stoked to start building my collection and hopefully buying some FPS ASAP! GTA is awesome on the XBOX by the way... I have about 20 PS3 games so once I platinum a game at a time, I will trade those in for a new XBOX game. I think the PS3 will strictly be used for MW2 and PS3 exclusives like Uncharted. No worries... I will definitely be getting MW2 for XBOX as well so I'll be showing my mad skills in no time!

Welcome! I've though about doing the opposite which is to get a PS3, there's a few exclusives that I'd really like to play and trophies are a nice draw in for a collector like myself

Now is as good as anytime to get a PS3 with the drop and the Black Friday sales coming soon. Uncharted is definitely one of the games you must get as a PS3 exclusive. So much fun and easy Platinums (equiv. to 100%). Same goes for Resistance. Easy trophies but online trophy takes forever lol. 10,000 kills. what up and welcome to x360a you can all ways just use an ethernet cable instead of the wireless you'll get better connection and speed i to also own a ps3 and a Wii the achievements are more addictive than the trophies in my opinion good luck hunting

I would use an ethernet cable but I decided to put the 360 in my room instead but no wires

. Not worth the money and hassle to do all the work. No worries though, I have wireless set up and everything now so I'm good to go!

And I dunno about cheevos being more addicting. However, MW2 has taken a lot of my time on the PS3 so maybe once I platinum that, I can focus on getting 1000/1000 on GTAIV or maybe 1500 with the DLC
