All these things you are going to miss CAN STILL BE DONE IN IN-GAME CHAT.

The only thing party chat allows, is to talk while dead/alive and speak with people who are playing other games.

Okay, so now clans that want to bend the rules can just slap headsets on telephones and communicate that way. So all IW is punishing is poor people.

And, for example, my XBoxDEAD people all play games in the same room. We'll have a distinct advantage.

This sets a horrible precedent. Stop giving your money to Activision/IW, people. Seriously. These decisions and what you the gamer allow now shape what's acceptable for companies in the future.

Nope IW will be getting my money , just because they strip a feature that makes the game more fair your deciding to not buy a game which in no doubt will be awesome looks like i wont be seeing you on the battlefield.

all thats going to do is ruin the game. I want to be able to talk to people playing other games while i play single player or even multiplayer. Maybe there will be an option to turn this setting on or off.

I don't think it's going to make any difference MW2 is still going to be a great game. Even if you love party chat, saying you wont play MW2 because of this isn't going to make any difference to IW, your only punishing yourselves. Personally I use my Xbox to play games (now there's a novel idea!) not to chat to people. IMO COD4 was a better game before party chat came about, you can mute the annoying ones anyway.

And someone said you can still talk in game-chat, one of the main points of party chat is so I don't have random people listening to my conversations.

They are only stopping party chat for S&D, simply because of the fuckheads that are in a party and tell the other players where the other team is.

I actually like the idea. It's not like you can't talk with friends anymore either. You just can't use parties.

You do know the party system hasn't existed that long, right?

A big problem with SnD was some dick on your team telling that last enemy standing where everyone is, leading to your unfair death.

And besides, isn't the removal of the party system only for certain game types?

Which, unless your extremely poor, is nothing. There's plenty of things you can give up for a day to pay for your XBL (Like, I dunno, a McDonalds meal?), so saying that "Oh, I pay $60 for it!" is kind of silly.

That, and we all lived without paties for XBL. It's a while back, yeah, but it happened.

This is not "stripping a feature", it's an innapropriate restriction for something at the guide level. They're overstepping what permissions their game should have and MS is bending over and taking it.

I was buying this game used at the first opportunity so that IW would get money from me via DLC and Activision would suffer one less sale. Then I get to find out that the fine folks at IW are ball-less 14 year old homophobes via their promo video last week, and that's when I decided to opt out completely. All the rest of this is piss icing on the shit cake, anytime someone from IW or Activision opens their whore mouth.

This is bad news and sets a nasty precedent. It will NOT save SnD, as I said those that will shout out positions, will. You're only going to create a higher caste of teams, not solve any problem whatsoever.

Killing the ghostcam/arena cam is solving the problem. This is not.

Ok. So how much do I have to pay to talk to my friends whenever I want to? Is it $60 a month? Is that enough for you to say it's not nothing? Or are you reading this, just now realizing how stupid your argument of "you don't pay enough to get to talk to people when you want to" is.

It doesn't matter if you don't think this is a big deal. If you don't chat in parties while you play, then fine - good for you. But to me a LOT of the fun of playing games comes from chatting with friends while we play - even if we're playing different things.

Maybe YOU need to realize that IT'S JUST A GAME and it doesn't fucking matter that your teammates can't talk to you. If you really want to play seriously with a squad...get a squad together and play with them. Don't punish the rest of us because you apparently don't have friends.

I never said I don't use the party system to chat with others. I do it all the time.

Oh, and I think you need to realize its just game. I barely play anything seriously. In fact, I'm getting LFD2 before MW2, because I rather play a cooperative game than a competitive game.

If you seriously want to talk to your friends, just either go to a game mode where parties are allowed, or get them to play MW. Or, just don't talk to them for the hour or so of playing. They're bound to still be your friend by the time your done.

Oh, and I was using the whole $60 a month thing to kind of point out we get a pretty decent service for what we're paying. Not that you should pay more to just talk.
