It shouldn't take to long, though it will take as long as it takes to clear the backlog. Some of the staff are away including myself, i'm just answering questions and working on other projects at the same time.

How much longer are the clubs going to be closed? From what I can see they have been closed for roughly two weeks, and it appears there is no backlog anymore. It looks as there is 5 submissions in the 1000 club, and 12 in the 200 club. Is there other things you guys are doing to the clubs?

Honestly the longer they are closed the worse the backlog will be... As soon as it opens tons of people will flood it with posts of all the games they have finished since its been closed. Than im assuming it will just be closed again??? Any info. on whats going on would be great.

Thought about this the other day so I'm glad someone else highlighted it. The thing that stings me is that the clubs are closed when staff are AWAY...

Why not just split the staff in half so that one team are working on the backlog while the other team work on recent posts. That way, the clubs wouldnt need closed and everyone's happy. I personally am not bothered but I echo BDG's forward thinking that once the clubs are open there will be a mass flood of posts and before you know it we're back to square one again...clubs closed for months and people posting comments and flooding pm's either enquiring, offering to help or moaning like fuck...to no resolve.

The reason i closed the clubs were due to most of the staff being away or busy at the same time. Seeing as there has only been one active staff member dealing with the clubs it's resulted in the locked threads.

The major hole in splitting the staff down the middle to deal with whatever is down to who is active when. If two people aren't active it leaves the other two staff to deal with everything.

As for backlog, long posts are a backlog. Once a user signs up a huge list of 50+ games all for old games which aren't current it slows us down. And yes once the clubs open again there will be a flood of users adding games. For anyone who doesn't sign up correctly using the new rules etc will be warned and have their posts removed.

It seems harsh but i'm trying out a new system and ruleset. You guys need to remember that we do this in our spare time and not everyone can spend hours every day digging through these lists. There is also no reason to be abusive or angry about these clubs, they don't really amount to anything high priority over someones life.

Can I make a suggestion then? Why not put a limit on the amount of clubs someone can enter at one time, for example, up to 10 games per post. That way instead of 50+ you would only have roughly, giving you guys an easy ride and better soothing for your headaches. If anyone posts more you can always warn and delete with the new system youve enforced, which I'm very happy with by the way.

It's possible, i'm also thinking about a new sign structure for the clubs where say the first 100 or 200 people are added to that club, then it just sits as it and can no longer be updated or added to.

I need to talk things over with the team and see what we can come up with.

I wouldnt agree to that if I was a staff member - people take these clubs very seriously and to have that right for a place in a certain club been taken away from them because "its full and we are no longer taking members", i think thats a slap in the face compared to being refused for breaking the rules and regulations. I think some people would be offended if it came to that. Yes I know you said that the clubs don't really amount to anything high priority over someones life, but for some people it does so rather than being discriminant against them, I wouldnt put a cap on them. In our spare time we 1000G games so in your spare time, you add us to the clubs. Fair?

Another thing that struck me was why only one guy was left with the responsibilty of looking after the clubs. Surely thats a bit of bad organisation. I would have thought given the amount of people enter these clubs that 4 people with regular communication with each other would be sufficiant, instead of being left to one sad soul being put under pressure.

There are 3 of us that deal with the clubs: Me, Fizz, and JC. Pandora helps out occassionaly. I have recently been away, and therefore have not been able to deal with the clubs. Fear not, though, I am back and ready to sort out the backlog.

I didn't say i was going to introduce it, i was thinking about it :P, as for the new rules, they are strict, and will remain that way to make our lives easier.

As for the team, 3 of us were away and pandora and jc were left running the clubs. Pandora adds people from time to time, the same with lily. We don't all have time to spend hours on here every day.

I have been quite busy myself so i have been added odd posts every so often. I have spent quite a lot of my time sorting out the clubs and now there in a decent order, they just need cleaning up a little before the sign ups are open again.

Cacky is very good at keeping the new submissions up to date also. As he is now back and im slowly working my way through the current projects i'm dealing with the clubs will get back on track.

One more thing, you guys earn the 1000s in your spare time, and yes we do add them to the clubs in our spare time. When we have it :P, no spare time the clubs go on a lockdown until it's sorted. It's just the only way to deal with the clubs without it turning into 20+ pages again.
