The objective for this battle is to jump and shoot 'just so' on your way down to hit him in the head (or at least his hat). Start by quickly going a couple steps left then turn around, jump and try to get a hit in. He will stumble back giving you even more room so now just save immediately and repeat three more times. Then finish him off with magic (4 damage if close enough).
