I touched a little on delivering freight on my Youtube videos, though:
Set your tracks to go to the edge of the map and use frieght trains. Then in the station you want them dropped off at, modify (X if I remember correctly on the station) the train so it is only set to unload. If you want to move your own materials from your own factories, put the factories within 20 squares of a station, set the train to LOAD on that station, then at the station you want to unload, do the unload thing.

Cheers for the help. Just loading up A-Train no so will give it a go. This game is totally baffling. It has taken me ages to figure out the Timetable Wizard.

I used to play this on the PS, and there was choice to set it to unload only. This caused frustration for me because I would leave the game on all night to build up my bank roll. When a materials yard filled up, the trains would take away excess materials after a yard filled up, it would fill up, then empty then eventually it would have a uneven distribution for the trains I would have bringing in materials with. This stifled growth because for the most part there wasn't enough materials on hand to support the growth of the city.
