Interpol stole my points!

I thought I'd download the demo to see if it was as bad as previews had made out. I had 2000 points in hand, and at the end of the download to my horror the plinky said "Interpol full game downloaded" and 800 points had been taken.

I had definately selected the free trial option. I have contacted MS but they haven't got back to me yet. Maybe this is the only way they think they can sell this piece of garbage, through deception - ironic for a game that involves investigating fraud!

I doubt it is some evil scheme plotted by Doctor Chaos though - he's the first super-villain I've ever had to beat through the medium of "Where's Wally" (or "Waldo" as I believe the US version goes).

Firstly, not everyone "hates" the game - those who, shock horror, don't think it is garbage. There is a minority of us who do like it. Feel free to critise my taste of games - if I want to play a game where you got to find items, then I will go ahead and play it :P I did like the Where Wally books when I was a kid, so that explains it I guess! There is always going to be people who hate the game, and people who like it. And chances are there are games you play that I just cannot stand. Nice to see you were going to give the game a chance though, there are so many people who judge a game by one review.

By the looks of it your the only person who has paid for it when downloading the trail. No one else had this problem (or at least have not admitted it). I downloaded it as a trial at first. So did a few people, by the sounds of it. I wasn't charged - I gave my points away willingly.

If this whole download a trial and be charged for it was true, don't you think the whole game would be taken off while it was fixed? In your Interpol section on the downloads, does it say you downloaded the trial too or just the full version?

It's not fair to critisise the game for stealing the money when a) chances are you accidently bought it, sorry but it is easy done, or b) chances are it is Microsoft who took the points, not the makers of the game. So if anyone is to blame, it is either you or Microsoft. Don't blame the guys who made the game, or the game itself. It could happen with any game.

However I DO hope you get your points back if it is MS who are to blame, I understand why you are angry about it. No one likes points being "stolen". Although it does say "There are no refunds for this item". Please do post saying if you got your points back. Good luck mate

Hi, no I specifically selected Trial (I've been with the 360 since launch day so I'm past those kind of rookie mistakes I hope LOL).

I posted this on another board and apparently I'm not the only one this has happened too, but as 800MSP equates to around £7GBP, or about 15 minutes of work on my hourly rate, I suppose for 200 easy points it works out ok. I'm glad you like the game anyway, but it reminds me of the sort of things I used to play back when I got my first Amiga in the 1980s!

the wife and i played co-op

she rarely plays games, so it was a rare occasion

Maybe this is God telling you to play the game. Its not like how I bought Portal and it ended up fucking up my hard drive and making it so I don't get achievements in Guitar Hero World Tour, Gears of War2, and Portal itself. Then in the end Portal glitched up to the point I couldn't play it period. THAT was stolen money.
