Finally clarifacation on switching difficulties on the last battle!

Alright here is my story.
I run through the game in one go and get 48 of 51 of the achievements.
Leaving only,
Avid Inventor
Brass Balls &
Seriously Good at This.

I beat the game on easy the first time then as I started to play through it again on hard I remembered.
The whole game on easy I never used a vita-chamber.
I stoped, puzzled, and loaded my save which is right at the battle against Fontaine.
Then I switched my difficulty to Hard.
Killed Fontaine and what do you know?
*Achievements unlocked 2 for 140G*

IF YOU BEAT THE GAME ON EASY AND CHANGE THE DIFFICULTY ON THE LAST BATTLE YOU WILL UNLOCK THE "Seriously Good at This" (if you didnt use a vita chamber you'll get brass balls also!)

I don't know why in a year this was never figured out but whatever at least now I know!

*EDIT* ok some people are saying this still Isin't working!

Try beating Atlas on easy then reloading your save.
Change it to hard and kill him then report what happens please!

Hmmm...I like this. I truly hope this is 100% true. I beat it on hard...but used vitachambers...and this was before the update so there was no Brass Balls achievement then. I'll give it a try...I truly love the game anyway.

I tried this twice myself and it didn't work, from medium
I cant even get the disable vita chambers option to show up
I downloaded the extra plasmids twice, still nothing

Well done, I'm going through it on Hard, though I have used Vita Chambers about half a dozen times. I'm at Hephaestus and I love this game!

so to clarify you can get the brass and diffculty achievments by fighting the last battle on hard diffculty also you cant have been been killed and respawn in the vita chamber.

Complete the game on easy without dieing (Using a Vita Chamber)
Make sure you have plenty of ammo come the final battle with Fontaine.
Kill Fontaine and complete the game.
When on the main menu click continue
When the game has loaded, hit start and click options.
Change the difficulty to Hard and kill Fontaine.

= Achievement unlocked

Thats pretty sweet, nice find. I'm gonna go do that now. I wish I knew everything I know now when I started my 1st playthrough. It's entirely possible to get EVERY SINGLE achievement in one shot. I just need one more though to get Save Every Little Sister and Brass Balls.

Edit: I just can't get this to work. It's possible that not using Vita-Cambers has something to do with getting "Seriously Good..." I know it shoudnt but I have done this several times and it does not work for me. Something to do with DLC or updates maybe? Oh well I will still play through and get it along with Brass Balls.

This also didn't work for me. I completed on easy first time and have a save as you get out the lift to fight Fontanie. Switch to hard and defeted him but no achievement unlocked. Tried this serval times but no luck?

I decided to play through this game on hard, but first decided to try this trick for the achievement. I started the game at the Pavillion and fought Fontaine on easy, killed him, continued the game and switched to hard and killed him. Nothing.

When I go to the options to change difficulty, I see a message on the bottom telling me that changing difficulty would affect achievements. I don't know, maybe after the last update I got, it no longer works.

I'm going to try this today and I'm hoping that the updates haven't made this glitch impossible. I would LOVE to have the Brass Balls achievement.

well, the bad news is that the glitch did not work for me.
the good news is that the game is doable on hard without vita chambers
what i remember trying:

load the easy save in front of fontaine, beat him, start new game on hard, quit to main menu, reload the same save, change difficulty to hard, beat him. no cigar.

load the easy save before the elevator, beat him, start new game on hard, quit to main menu, reload the same save, change difficulty to hard, beat him. no cigar.

load the easy save before the elevator, beat him, start new game on hard, quit to main menu, reload the save in front of fointaine, change difficulty to hard, beat him. no cigar.

the same as above, but choosing continue instead of load.

all of them came to nothing but frustration, then i went to finish the game on hard from start to end.

the best tips i read on this topic are these 2:

- save every damn second
- rescue the first three little sisters, so you can grab the hypnotize big daddy as quickly as possible. this plasmid will carry you throughout the entire game. just use it on the first big daddy you see on the level and keep with him until his energy is close to finish. then let him go grab a kid, then kick the crap out of him, go find another one, rinse and repeat

Hmmm switching difficulties before the last boss does not work for me either... but then I'm halfway through the game anyways and haven't had any problems so far... might aswell get the achievement legit x3

this thread should be locked. This isnt confirmed and no one can replicate what the OP did. there is no use in keeping this thread alive since the OP was just lucky getting those 2 achievements to pop. I would like to see ONE person who replicated the results. Its kinda pissing me off really. this thread is giving people false hope. And when people gp tp try it and dont bother to read all the posts theyu are gonna get pissed as well. I say close this thread and if the OP can replicate the results again to open the thread.

I tried this, but then again, I got the DLC halfway through the game. I think OP got lucky if he got it like that at all.

Hi. I registered here just to reply to this.

The thing I noticed that the OP did different that I didn't notice anybody else do, is that he started a new game on hard, then re-loaded his easy game and set it to hard. It could have been that little move that helped him unlock the achievements, and I didn't see anybody else here say that they did the same.

So, if someone wants to beat it on easy without using a vita-chamber, start a new hard game then load up your easy, switch it to hard difficulty and beat it again, let me know if you unlock that.

And of course you need the friggin' DLC to unlock the achievement. For crud's sake, hahah.... That's like complaining that your sandwich fell all over your lap because you forgot the bread.
