How many points do you need to get an A?

I was looking for those earlier today before the drive. I don't know why it's so hard to find it, but searching for 'rank' or 'score' returns things you don't want on Google.

EDIT: I'm going through it right now trying to find out the hard way. I got Chapters 1 and 5 a while ago so I'll tackle them last. 5, however, is ridiculously easy, as the chains are fed to you.

EDIT2: Stage 2: I don't know where I was in the range of A grade, but this gives you an idea.

Goodness, I have a hard time getting anywhere near that amount of points, lol. I'm just happy to be squeezing into the 4th stage now!

I take it it has to do with getting more combos or something of the like? I never really played the game to try getting better ranks before, but now there are achievements involved, so it's a must!

Indirectly, yes. You need to chain to get large point bonuses for your combos. At max chain, every combo you make afterwards nets another 25,600 points as a bonus, so the points go north pretty quickly that way.

Based on that 111 chain above, the chain bonuses along came to 2,687,900. This doesn't include the points for eating bullets, killing enemies, or the boss bonus; these only amounted to 862,200, and the boss bonus was probably 750,000 of that.

So, chains are king.

I know that the minimum amount to get an A in the first chapter is 2 million points.

if you download the top players replays you can see how they got such high scores obviously chains are the key to everything im working my way up through the scores with it i'm aiming for an A on the first level and with max 9 chain i got a c+ and on max 26 chain which was my best so far i got C++ and that was a bit over 400,000 points i think so its practise a memorising where the enemies will spawn, hard work though but the game is fun so its all good

Memorization seems to be the key. I'm pretty decent at the first part of the stage, so I can get a decent chain going, but the second half I'm less knowledgeable about, so I combo almost nothing.

The highest I've managed is a B so far at just over 1,000,000 points.

Does anyone know how lives affect your score if they do (which I'm guessing they must?) Like, do you get a higher stage score for making it through a stage losing no lives?

A ranks are insane!

Lives don't affect it, but they break your chain, so starting that over costs you points in the end. Dying on the boss won't affect your chain, but it'll be a precious few seconds of the defeat time, and each second is 10,000 bonus points.

I believe pressing start using a credit does though. I could be wrong, but I used one on lvl 1 and got 1,700,000 and got a C when i finished using a continue.
