Team Fortress 2 Achievement Guide.
This is my first achievement guide so yeah. I thought as someone made a guide for all the Half Life achievements, we should do seperate ones for Team Fortress 2 and Portal to clean this place up a bit and to make it easier for people to find what they want.
TF2 Has 17 achievements which total 165 gamerscore. Sentry Gunner 5Accumulate 10 sentry gun kills with a single sentry. -Set your class to an engineer and set up a sentry gun around the intelligence and anyone going for the intelligence should die. Nemesis 5Get 5 revenge kills. First, to get revenge, someone needs to be dominating you. Then just kill them. Simple as. Do this five times or you could set up a player match with one person and 8 private slots. Dominate, revenge. Wrinse and repeat. Hard to kill 10Get 5 kills in a row without dying Get 5 kills in a row. Make a Private match with a friend and dominate them. If you are going for the achievement above you should get this. Master of disguise 15Trick an opposing medic into healing you. Set your class as a spy then disguise your self as someone on the opposite team then call a medic to heal you. As soon as they heal you *Ding* achievement unlocked. With friends like these...10Play in a game with 7 or more players from your friends list. Pretty straight forward, check HERE Dynasty 10Win 20 games. Again, very straight forward. Should come anyway whilst going for the achievement hardcore. Hardcore 15Accumulate 1000 total kills There is no easy way around this; if you are good at the game, obviously it wont take as long. I suggest just play the game. Have fun with it and just let it come in its own time. Powerhouse offense 5Win 2fort with a shutout. Private match, with a friend and get the intelligence without letting your opponent get it. Lightning Offense 10Win Well in 5 minuites or less. Private match, with a friend just capture all the points. Relentless Offense 20Win hydro without giving up a capture. See lightning offense but defend it (dont give any captures). Impenetrable Defense 10Successfully defend Dustbowl without giving up a capture. See lightning offense but defend it (dont give any captures). Impossible Defense 30Successfully defend Gravelpit without giving up a capture. See lightning offense but defend it (dont give any captures). Head of the class 5Play a complete round with every class. Play a complete round without changing class and do this with each class. World Traveler 5Play a complete game on every map. Just play a game on each map. Very simple. Team Doctor 5Accumulate 25000 heal points as a medic. Be the team medic for around 10 games and this should unlock if you keep healing your injured team mates. Flamethrower 5Set 5 enemies of fire in 30 seconds. This one may give you trouble to get legitly unless you find the whole team at one capture point so set up a private match with you against five people and get them to stand close to each other and set them on fire. OR In an attack and defend match, as a defender, stand near the gates where the attacking team will enter the map from during the warm-up period. Once the game starts those gates will open and you'll often find a group of fools all stood next to each other like a flock of sheep. With thanks to Osaka Jim. Grey Matter 5Get 25 headshots as a sniper. Set up a private match with a friend and just keep head shotting each other until it unlocks for both of you. PS: Sticky? PPS: Thanks for the sticky

They can be done in system link because I had one of the 'defend without giving up a capture' achs. left to get (got the rest legit
) and I did it in a system link match. You don't even need to have a second player for the system link matches.

Good job with the guide. Few things. As a spy, do you need to actually be damaged to get healed and get the achievement? or can an enemy doc trying to overcharge you work too? Also, a pointer, its usually best to disguise yourself as a heavy gunner, since thats what medics usually like to look after, particularly on dustbowl while your team is defending.
Best way to get the various defense/offense map specific achievements is to make a private game and set up a 2 vs 1 situation favoring the side getting the achievement, if you can get 3 buddies to agree to it, you can unlock all of them fairly easily, even if the single side tries really hard to win. Its just a matter of finding like-minded people. Sniper Headshots are typically easiest to get on 2Fort at the battlements, where you can snipe opposing snipers and guys running across the battlements, bridge, and downstairs. As a sniper on 2Fort, its better to be red side, as there is a shadow just below the battlements that you can hide in at the doorways that lead to the bridge, making you much harder to spot. Also, take care to conceal your laser while zoomed in, as it is visible to the enemy. Keep it on outer walls until you are ready to slide it over and make your actual kill, leaving it on a wall the enemy runs past will give them a chance to see it and go a different way! For Engineer 10 turret kills, and 5 kills in a row, its usually best to set up a turret on 2Fort in the courtyard on your side at the further away stairwell. Build a dispenser next to it so that you completely block the upper pathway. This allows you to stand next to it and keep it repaired and cover with your shotgun (or pistol/wrench if spies are abound) and you should get your 5 and 10 kills after doing it only a few times. Also, the resupply station is very nearby, so you can refill on metal completely much more quickly, getting it set up and fully modded very very fast. This turret will also pretty much completely protect one intel entrance and the two stairwells that allow people to access the other intel entrance. This means the only two ways remaining for people to get to your intel are the super jump through the grate, or the scout run across the top of the bridge and scout jumping onto your battlements. Of course, the sniper should cover this area, or another engineer should set up a turret to protect that entrance, or a turret should be set up in very close proximity to the intelligence itself. This can also help you do 2Fort with a shut-out legitamately, so long as you have a series of spies and scouts going to grab their intelligence. Anyway, love this game! |

Having a bit of trouble with the Master of Disguise achievement. I've been healed by the enemy medic for at least 500 or 600 damage, and it still hasn't unlocked. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Also, if anyone would like to do the With Friends Like These... achievement feel free to add my GT... Great job with the guide!

I figured out an easy way to get the Flamethrower achievement, it only requires 2 people.
Host a private player match on 2Fort, 1 guy as heavy, other guy as Pyro. Go to the sewers under the bridge and light up the heavy. Let him drop in the water and do this 4 more times. Don't kill the guy, he only needs to be on fire. |

It says in the achievement guide itself on the main Half Life 2: The Orange Box page. Pretty much everything can be done in either private matches or system link..

the absolute quickest way to boost kills towards hardcore is by using the sapper method. defense team spawns as engineer and places a turret and dispenser right outside the enemy spawn. offense spawns as a spy, disquises himself, and gets his sapper out. the engineer keep hitting the sappers with the wrench and the spy stops putting them on briefly as the turret runs low on health, the engineer wacks the turret a couple more times with the wrench and then the sappers resume.
on defense on dust bowl, you can get 170 kills (each sapper counts as a kill) in an unextended match (meaning no caps). That means in around 30-35 minutes one person can boost ALL kills towards the 1,000. Or in an hour 2 people can reciprocate. |

when you guys say "system link" - do you mean you have two Xbox's, or can you play a game against nobody?
