How can I change the character in Story Mode?

Hi,

I have the game played through and now going for collecting all the coins as it is advised in the guide. But I don´t understand how I can change my character. I need for example Neji to disarm some traps in the woods, but he always says to me if I go to him if I wish to fight him

You have to complete the story mode first. Once you do, you will be given free reign to run around in the world. Whenever you leave the Hidden Leaf Village, you will be given an option at the gate to create a team.
