Looking to buy a new TV
*just saw the tv buyers guide stickied... that's my bad. If a mod sees this, please move it to there
Looking to buy a new HD TV... because I don't really like mine right now. I don't know jack, so bear with me. I saw a T.V at my Navy Exchange that looked pretty good, HD and 3D at a 999 price tag. I've always wanted an HD TV to really bring out the quality in my Blu ray disks.... like, I don't know... the quality they have on the floor models. I mean, I'm not looking for anything big. The one I'm talking about is 42 (smallest I could find). If anybody could enlighten me as to me wtf I'm looking for, best model out there and best price.. I'd be very thankful Last edited by KFZ Scrubs; 07-18-2012 at 03:16 AM. |

I would go to the store and write down model numbers to TVs you are interested in. I've bought about 3 tvs in the past 2 years and that is what I did for each of them. Then you can go home and google them or go to AVSforums and read reviews and see if the price is good.
I hate TV shopping more than I hate shopping for anything else. It took me about 2 months just to decide on each of them. I have a vizio led lcd which is my favorite for watching tv on. Also I my wife bought a Samsung 3D tv which has been good for the past 6 months. Its plasma and I actually like playing games on it much better but like watching movies on the other. I also own a mitsubishi which I really wouldn't recommend. I just bought it because of the size and the menu is crap. It only has 3 settings for lighting and picture and it really annoys me. Plus I can't play games on it because it makes me motion sick but it could be the size. |

what's the model number of the one you saw at the navy exchange? Did you run the info through google shopping or anywhere else yet to see what the average is for people selling it?

I have two Vizio HDTV's and they work great and the picture is clear. I would recommend this brand especially because they are not too pricey.
