Stunning! Achievement Pigsy's Perfect 10 DLC: Help!
This is the last achievement I need and I swear the devs intentionally wanted to make this near impossible. Anyone found a good spot yet? I found one area where, if I could keep the gun mechs from accidentally killing the ones I keep using to decoy on, I'd be able to get it. Seems to be the best spot I've found to try. If I'm successful, I'll update this thread with the details, but if anyone already knows of a better way, I'd appreciate the input.
![]() UPDATE: As promised, here is what I did to get this achievement. I'll also post this in the Guide Thread for the OP to add it. This is by no means the easiest way, but since I couldn't find another way, hopefully it will at least be of some help. It may be beneficial for you to time how long the effects of the DECOY and EMP/Cattle Prod last before going through with the following: - Start up the chapter "Spring up the Pipe" - Clear the first area with the turret and two melee mechs that are patrolling around it. - Once you use the grapple point to get to the next area, there will be three melee mechs in the room in front of you and two gun mechs on the other side of the bridge. Using Trouble Vision ( ), you will also spot another melee mech on the same side as the gun mechs, but it will not come out unless you reach the middle of the bridge, which, unfortunately, is exactly what you are going to have to do.- To start, toss a DECOY towards the doorway directly across from your starting position (the one that leads out to the bridge). Try to get it close to the doorway, but far enough way that the mechs aren't blocking it. - Wait for the melee mechs to gather around the area and then toss an EMP to stun them. - Now snipe the gun mech on the top level of the building on the other side (preferably with a headshot to kill it instantly) and leave the one on the bottom level alone. - It will fire in your direction for a few moments, so just stay behind cover until it stops. - Now it will start walking across the bridge to your side of the area and the other melee mechs will, basically, still be in the same location as when you hit them with the EMP. - Wait for the gun mech to fully enter the area and, when all 4 mechs are in the radius of another EMP, toss it (don't try using a DECOY at this point because it will just make the gun mech run all the way back to it's home position). - With those 4 stunned, now comes the tricky part. QUICKLY, run out to the bridge and be ready to nail the hidden mech with your Cattle Prod. (DO NOT STOP to hit the mech; mash " " while running so you can keep moving).- Afterward, get to the door with the lever and get ready to toss another DECOY back onto the bridge. - At this point, if the Cattle Prod effect is close to wearing off, you may need to stun the hidden mech again. If this is the case, stun the mech once more, get back to the lever and then wait for the effect to be close to wearing off, then toss the DECOY onto the bridge. - Once the others come running, lob an EMP and you should hit all 5 with it. - Achievement Unlocked! EDIT: Decided to make a few changes with the wording/formatting in this strategy; hopefully it will be a bit easier to follow if anyone did or has had issues with it previously. Glad it's been a help to some of you! Last edited by XperimntNterror; 12-21-2010 at 07:57 PM. |

Awesome!
I spent a ridiculous amount of time replaying the chapters and this spot was the only one that seemed to have any real potential for getting it, so I'm glad it helped somebody else, too.

Aye, I used this method as well after reading it here - got it in three tries, first two had the distracted gun mech unloading into the distraction... where the other mechs were clustered.
Only other place I could imagine getting this is at the corridor at the end of the game, and I think it'd be harder to get them into one space without killing you or each other. |

I will add this to the guide. I was waiting to see some feedback whether it worked or not. I was hoping for someone to post an easier method that I missed but I guess that achievement if the only random one in the DLC. Oh well, the rest of the pack was pretty straightforward and easy.

I got this by chance towards the end of the game at the bit where you activate the lift with a lever and fight off mechs on platforms to the sides and below (sorry, I forget which chapter it was. Might've been 'End Of The Line').
I just chucked an EMP onto the platform at the bottom with three mechs on it. Obviously, three is not enough, but I think I also got the one on the platform above and the one you cannot see yet that comes through the door after the first three have been defeated. Hope this helps in some way!

As long as you kill the guy who comes out the door on the platform on the left, by using a decoy. I threw the stun bomb directly underneath the mech on the top platform, took a few goes though.

I used the method described over at PS3Trophies and it worked like a charm. Got it on my third try.
Here are the cliff notes. 1 - Go to chapter "Under Attack" and follow the guide for Quadruples (don't pull lever, use decoy to group the four mechs, stun and bomb them). 2 - Once they're dead - still ignoring the lever - jump down and move to the left side of the middle platform where there's a small wall to hide behind. Take out the two mechs that comes running but leave the shooting mech at the back for now. 3 - Wait for your abilities to refresh then take out the shooter with your regular sniper scope. Immediately as he dies, toss a decoy on the spot where he stood. 4 - The new wave that spawns will have four moving mechs and one shooter. As soon as the moving mechs are near the decoy (the shooter will spawn nearby) deploy your EMP and you should get the cheevo. I think that's about it. Once you see how they spawn and move about you should be able to nail it pretty fast. Again, I take no credit for this - it goes to Unok over at our sister site. Edit: One thing I noticed on this level while working on the Quadruple cheevo. When you're up by the lever and the four melee mechs spawn - go to the very edge of the platform all the way to the left (looking in the direction the mechs are coming from). Load up your decoy and keep moving toward the edge of the platform with the left thumbstick. You won't fall down and you wont move but the mechs will somehow miss the fact that you're there and won't charge. Now you can wait for them to slowly move toward you and deploy your decoy to group them easily. Once I realized this the task of blowing those four to bits became a breeze since they were so easy to group up nice and tight for a little bomb. =)
