walkthrough: all combo weapons

if you follow this walkthrough, you will obtain the following achievements along the way:

Duct Tape FTW 20 Create all combo weapons.

and the secret achievement

Tape it Or DIE! 20 Discovered The Secret Combo Card. Did You Cheat By Checking Online?

this walkthrough is intended for people who want a way to built all combo weapons consecutively. it is possible to do this with a level one character but obviously it is easier and faster to do with a leveled up character. i would advise you to pick up every weapon i list here although you might have gotten quite a few weapons before. this will ensure that you don't get lost along the way or miss any items. you might want to start a completely new playthrough or at least make sure you have enough time left to actually complete this in one playthrough. the achievement does not have to be done in one playthrough but it makes it easier to not lose focus.

upon completing every combo weapon you will get a scratch card. these are NOT the combo cards you will need for the "half deck" and "full deck" achievements. the only two exceptions are the spiked bat and the wingman. you will earn the combo cards for these two weapons.

against contrary believe, you will not have to have access to the underground lab to earn "duct tape ftw" but you will have to have succesfully finished case 2-2 to get general access to the underground (the keys for the underground do NOT carry over from a previous walkthrough). even though you are not at the safe house after completing that case, i will start my walkthrough at the safe house to avoid any mix ups or confusion.

while attempting this walkthrough, we will only be getting 4 to 5 weapons at a time. that is because i don't want people with only few inventory slots to miss out on anything. this way it will take a longer time to finish the walkthrough but people will not have to level up before getting the achievement.

items to build the combo weapons will be color coded red.
actual combo weapons will have a counter in front and will be color coded purple.

i will start this walkthrough in the safe house, where you start the game.

REMEMBER TO COMPLETE CASE 2-2 (NEEDED FOR UNDERGROUND ACCESS) BEFORE STARTING WITH THIS WALKTHROUGH!

start in the room in which katey and stacey are in. right in front of you after leaving the room there will be a fire axe leaning against the wall.

fire axe - safe house - after leaving the first room, leaning against the wall

turn left and go down the stairs. you will find a vacuum cleaner in the corner.

vacuum cleaner - safe house - down the stairs to your left, in a corner

leave the safe house and take the right path. on the ground you will find saw blades.

saw blade - safe area - on the floor to the right of your starting position

up the stairs and past the maintenance room you will find:

sledge hammer - safe area - on your way to the royal flush plaza, on the floor

now go back to the maintenance room and build:

01/50 - exsanguinator - vacuum cleaner & sawblade
02/50 - defiler - sledge hammer & fire axe

while still in the maintenance room, grab the baseball bat and the nails.

03/50 - spiked bat - baseball bat & nails

head into the room across the hall and get the bucket, the power drill, the nails and the propane tank.

back to the maintenance room:

04/50 - drill bucket - power drill & bucket
05/50 - i.e.d. - propane tank & nails

head out of the safe area and into the in the closet shop directly on your left. grab the spray paint from the rack.

one store to left (the man's sport) you can get the boxing gloves and the mma gloves.

get on top of the yesterday, today and tomorrow kiosk and pick up the bowie knife.

now get back to the safe house, because we have to reload the area and therefor respawn the nails.

once again back at the maintenance room:

go back down the steps you just came up and grab the pylon in the corner. back to the maintenance room:

now head into the royal flush plaza again and take a right. visit the astonishing illusions for the fountain fireworks.

go across the mall to the tunemakers store and grab the electric guitar and the amp.

use the maintenance room inside the store:

09/50 - power guitar - electric guitar & amplifier

over to ye olde toybox and pick up the lizard mask from the floor.

grab the spear in front of the maintenance room and the power drill inside the room.

now head to the slot ranch casino and get to the stage. pick up some gems from one of the little round tables in front of the stage and from there head backstage and pick up the leave blower.

grab the training sword in front of the maintenance room and the motor oil inside the room. also grab the gems and the flashlight inside the same room.

on to the food court and into the wild west grill house.

head for the maintenance room. build the

and then grab:

across the court are some vending machines. climb on top and from there jump onto the wooden walkway that is above the whole eastern store front. grab the drill motor, the bow & arrow and the dynamite and then head back to the maintenance room.

now switch over to the yucatan casino and take a right to get to the area where ted & snowflake were. to make things simpler i will just call this the "aztec area". pick up a tiki torch and off we go to the next maintenance room where we also pick up a toy spitball gun. god, i really get tired of writing "maintenance room". freakin' maintenance rooms...

20/50 - fire spitter - toy spitball gun & tiki torch

head to the baron von brathaus and take the servbot mask from the table. get out of the brathaus the same way you came in and take an immediate right. there is a large planter area to your right (above your head) which you can jump up to. up there you will find:

lawnmower - yucatan casino - on the floor of the planter area above your head

back to the maintenance room.

21/50 - super slicer - servbot mask & lawnmower

now go back to the aztec area where you got the tiki torch earlier and climb up the stone building. get the machete, another tiki torch and then turn around and look up. slightly above you, you will see two stone pillars with rocket fireworks on top. grab one. some feet south of that aztec area you can find a lead pipe in a corner.

right outside the maintenance room you will find a push broom

head back to where you found the lead pipe earlier and pick up the flashlight and the construction hat from the floor. off to the reception where we jump behind the counter:

one last time we head back to the aztec area and grab a pitchfork from the floor.

back to the baron von brathaus and get the gasoline canister in front of the fireplace.

get up to the shoal nightclub but don't enter. behind the counter on the right (outside the entrance) is a shotgun on the floor.

head over to the palisades mall and into the maintenance room. grab the water gun on the left.

head into shank's and grab a machete from the show case.

up the escalator and into kid's choice clothing. get the dynamite from the playpen and the chainsaw right behind it.

two shops to the right is under the sea. pick up the paddle from the floor.

back down the escalator and into the maintenance room. grab the fire extinguisher from the wall in front of the maintenance room while your at it...

further down the mall in the ultimate playhouse we can find a toy helicopter and a water gun. also go to the water lounge thingy in the middle of the mall and grab the lmg (on a rock to the right of the southern entrance). the weapon will only spawn if no lmg is in your inventory and/or if no active psychopaths are in the area.

head for the maintenance room at the other end of the mall and also make sure to pick up the boxing gloves on the telephone and the fire extinguisher in front of the maintenance room and the motor oil inside the room.

head to the second floor and into the brand new u. pick up the robot bear from the shelf and head back to the maintenance room.

switch over to the atlantica casino and head for the - oh man you guys will never guess this - the maintenance room. pick up:

leave for fortune park. just to the left is yet another maintenance room and in front of it you will find:

hunk of meat - fortune park - in front of maintenance room, on the floor

36/50 - dynameat - dynamite & hunk of meat

in the middle of the park there is this saferoom area which is built like a large circle. (from north to south) it's built like this: grass strip / water strip / rocks / walkway with safe room and maintenance room / rocks / water strip / grass strip. i will call this area "middle circle".

head for the northern grass strip of the middle circle and pick up a football that is lying besides a palm tree.

now go to the maintenance room in the middle circle and pick up the lawnmower and the leaf rake in front of the maintenance room and the 2x4 and the battery inside the maintenance room.

head for the south-western corner of the park. on a slightly raised grass strip you will find grenades.

go inside the fortune city hotel/south plaza and make your way to the first maintenance room on your left (near the safe point). a few feet away on the floor there will be a saw blade and a cement saw.

now get to the maintenance room near the fortune city arena and grab:

switch to the fortune city arena and from there to the americana casino. use the underground access near the safe point.

head towards the tracks but get to the maintenance room first. grab the wheelchair in front of the maintenance room and the battery inside to make an electric wheelchair then just grab the merc assault rifle besides you and make that awesome, awesome blitzkrieg.

now hop onto that badass and head left onto the tracks...

go forward for a bit and go up the first ramp on the left. there you will find a blast frequency gun on the floor.

go further down the tracks and you will find a maintenance room to your right. in front, there's a parasol and inside is a leaf blower.

right besides the maintenance room is a ladder to go back up to the royal flush plaza. after climbing up and opening the door, grab the spear in front of you and head back into tunemakers which we visited at the beginning of this walkthrough. grab an amp from the shelf an create the super b.f.g..

off to roy's mart with you and get two orange juices.

head for the slot ranch casino again and once again grab the leaf blower behind the stage.

whilest doing all this, use the super b.f.g on some zombie crowds to get a queen.

now head behind the bar (right off the passage towards the foodcourt) and mix the two orange juices, which will produce nectar.

nectar - slot ranch casino - use the mixer behind the bar with the two orange juices

make your way to the silver strip and take a right. just some feet away you will find a goblin mask on the floor in front of a maintenance room. enter and grab the battery.

IF YOU DID NOT DO THE SECRET ACHIEVEMENT (TAPE IT OR DIE) IN ANOTHER PLAYTHROUGH, IT WILL UNLOCK AT THIS POINT!

go into the one little duck bingo and grab the bingo ball cage.

now get to the maintenance room in the middle circle of fortune park and get the battery.

head back into royal flush plaza but first pick up the lawnmower that can be found left of the entrance (in front of another maintenance room).

get the lawnmower to the nearest maintenance room and than track back to the slot machines where you will find a zombie with a wheelchair. grab it!

(this has been tested on several profiles. all necessary items for the achievement are listed. if you don't unlock the achievement you might consider doing this again on another playthrough as all collecting achievements for dr2 have proven dodgy on one end or the other.)

rescue those 2? as i got them manually by combining
