Veteran is a bitch!

OK so I'm starting this thread to let people share there rage stories on getting those 1,000 Gs.

First things first. Veteran is spelled V-E-T-E-R-A-N.
Yeah, Vet is a pain in the arse at times but at others it's easy. Cod3 Veteran is a lot harder. The real pain is the constant enemy grenade spamming and the never ending spawning of them. I haven't really felt like playing it on Vet. I've only been getting 1 level done a month. Each one takes me about 4 hours. I just don't bother playing often. I'll probably make a point to get a level or two done this week. Here are the big problems I've noticed.
• Grenade Spamming (and you can't return the grenades)
• Non stop enemies until you reach the checkpoints
• You have to destroy a LOT of tanks with just sticky grenades.
• Your allies don't do anything to help you. They just get in your way.

One good thing is with the constantly respawning Allies you get, you'll never run out of ammo for your favorite gun. Here is the best piece of advice I can give. Make good use of your smoke grenades. They can save your life. A LOT!

Yes, yes, yes!!! That's why I have all but given up on trying to finish WaW on Veteran.

Yes, COD2 was a pain in the ass, and interestingly enough, I spent close to 4 hours just on one mission alone... Yeah I suck

Beat it! Took me close to 25 hours. Great feeling of accomplishment though!

Veteran is hard and frustrating, but damn it, if we would like an easy game, we would play King Kong, right ?

im stuck on the tiger :/ and the first american mission its insanely hard theres like no cover when u climb up the rope

Definitely repairing the phone wires in the Russian Campaign or Hill 400 in the American Campaign

Solid, but once completed them, its awesome

just got this game today. GRRRRRRRRRRRR> im ready to snap it in half. there arent many acheivements so ive only been doing it on verteran. Im ready to break stuff

found this pretty easy, try WAW and complete that on veteran, come back to this and you'll fly through, if not play a bit more and get used to the levels.

I would advise you to take it slow but sometimes running through the enemies is a good tactic when you have a smoke grenade etc.

(ALTHOUGH i dont like people saying hill 400 or d-day is hard, it was the easiest missions there)

If you think CoD2 Vet is hard, go play Halo 2 on Legendary by yourself. I used to think CoD games were hard, but Halo taught me a thing or two.

Just completed on Veteran. Definitely a challenge but I would say very doable. Finished over the course of 3 days. Didn't really get stuck on any parts for too long. The real key to this game was knowing when to be patient and when to put my head down and run!

Now do I want to do Black Ops next or World at War....hmmmm

Easily the hardest COD game to beat on veteran.
Yet it was first one I ever beat on veteran and I still love this game.

Cod4 and mw2 1000g on both, cod2 and cod3 are a bitch to do, if the Germans had unlimited re spawns in the war and influx of grenades we would never stand a chance, but my good god my tactic is, throw grenades, then smoke grenades and run and gun.

This was definately one game that tried my patience. Stick with it and you can do it. The silo level and the defend the hill are the hardest parts in the game in my opinion. But when you complete them, you will have a great sense of accomplishment. I know I did.

With skills and practice this game is easier than WAW in my opinion except mayde the bunker in Hill 400.

That was easy for me the only problem I had in the game was in the beginning were I had to destroy a tank.

I haven't gotten through the hole thing yet. But my biggest problem is Gaps between checkpoints. I'm doing d-day and I swear, if I see that Fake cannon one more time.

It's stupid, Many people say it was the best CoD. Veteran is just annoying and tedious.

while I wouldn't say it's the best I still has the right amount of difficulty.

It's good to see that others feel the same about CoD2 as I do. I played all CoD an I have to say that this really hard to do on Veteran. Some parts were easy but the in some Missions you're happy of each checkpoint you get. Stalingrad is an example.
The one thing I noticed is the following: There is a part when you have to shoot down some plains that are attacking you. I had such a terrible checkpoint that I never ever got the chance to fire one shot befor I got killed. So If you have a Situation with a real bad checkpoint don't play hours around this - just restart the level.

So far I've played CoD: Finest Hour, Cod 2: Big Red One, Cod 2, Cod 3, and Cod 4. I'd have to say this is the easiest on veteran to me for some reason. I've beat it twice on vetaran one because I wanted achievements obviously and had to beat it again cause my profile got totally deleted when I signed up my profile on xbox live so therefore I had to do again and I did it on veteran in 2 days about 7 hour sessions each.

Ahh yes, the memories. There were a few places that were difficult on Veteran. This is a great game though!!! Good pick up if anyone is able to come across it!
