From what I saw at PAX, they need to move the decimal point to the left one spot....
Looked alright, handled badly...was nothing special and certainly not a NFS game |

I'll probably pick it up and give it a try. It didn't look all that bad from what I've seen. I guess I'll figure out soon.

Decent game, drifting's hard and steering is pretty stiff at first.
I think 9/10 was a bit too high though. |

This game is just sounding better and better everyday. Going to rent it for sure now! Hopefully the NFS series is back on track.

These reviews sound very promising. If you had told me a few months back that Shift would be averaging better scores than DiRT 2 I would have told you to check yourself into a mental institution. However, I hear a demo is coming one or two weeks after release (why that late? I have no clue). To be honest, I will not purchase this game without playing a demo beforehand.

I'm quite surprised that it got a 9/10, but the review does sound really promising. I might consider picking this up when it releases, although a demo would be good.

I've only played the "test lap", which pretty much introduces you into the game, gets you started, etc., so far and I like it. I didn't choose to turn the assists off after the first race (like in Halo, it asks you what you want to change, and you can do another test lap to try it out), and now that I'm into the race race, I regret it. I think turning the assists off (completely) will be your best bet.
I was fairly disappointed in the NFS games post-MW, but I decided to give this one a shot. So far, I'm pleased.

I was surprised when i saw that the first two reviews were 9's , happy I preordered this month...
Well I take back my comment from before, it might be just two reviews but i like ign and know they are reliable, so looks like they did NFS right, congratulations Slightly Mad, Shift looks like its going to be a good competitor for other sims out there. |

Wow, that score really surprises me! It's good to see NFS get some love after all these years of duds and misses. I'm really not liking how Dirt 2 has came about. The minimal focus on rally is very unattractive. If only there was a demo for Shift, then I could make a real decision. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for more reviews to come out of the oven.
