[Dark Fury]

Single Player Achievements


Basic Training 5
Complete the basic training in the beginning of Saint Lo.

Simply complete the basic training at the start of the first level of the game, on any difficulty. Just follow the instructions that you are given until you get into the truck.



American Infantryman 20
Complete two missions as an American soldier.

Go through the single player campaign and after completing two missions as an American soldier, you will pick up this achievement. This can be done on any difficulty.



British Commando 20
Complete two missions as a British soldier.

Go through the single player campaign and after completing two missions as a British soldier, you will pick up this achievement. This can be done on any difficulty.



Canadian Highlander 10
Complete two missions as a Canadian soldier.

Go through the single player campaign and after completing two missions as a Canadian soldier, you will pick up this achievement. This can be done on any difficulty.



Polish Tanker 15
Complete two missions as a Polish soldier.

Go through the single player campaign and after completing two missions as a Polish soldier, you will pick up this achievement. This can be done on any difficulty.



Won the War 80
Complete the single player campaign on any difficulty setting.

Finish the game on any difficulty. See "Grizzled Veteran" for combat tips.



Hot Potato 25
Pick up and return 5 live grenades.

This must be done during one level, not over the course of the game. There is a balcony in the top floor of a house where you end up on the first level of the game, and you are charged with holding the position with your comrades. Stand at the balcony and enemy grenades will be thrown at you. Simply throw them away and you will recieve this achievement.



Rifleman 15
Complete a mission by firing only bolt action rifles. Melee attacks don't count.

You can obtain this achievement as well as "Battlefield Scavenger" on the first British mission. Knock out the first guard and use his rifle for the rest of the level.

Assault Trooper 15
Complete a mission by firing only assault rifles. Melee attacks don't count.

On the second mission of the game you can use the BAR for this achievement. Be precious with your ammunition as it is not plentiful. You can also use an enemies MP44. If you have problems with this, try it on Easy difficulty. Some have been saying that you cannot use grenades or melee attacks if you want to get this one.



Battlefield Scavenger 15
Complete a mission by firing only German weapons. Melee attacks don't count.

You can obtain this achievement as well as "Rifleman" on the first British mission. Knock out the first guard and use his rifle for the rest of the level.



Still Ticking 30
Complete a mission without dying or using checkpoints.

Simply complete a level without dying. This is done easiest on the first level at Saint Lo, just keep your head down and shoot occasionally to help your teammates (who will help out a lot) keep the enemy at bay. You can do this on any difficulty, but obviously its easier on Easy. You can also get the "Allergic to Bullets" and "Conservationist" achievements on this level.



Allergic to Bullets 25
Avoid getting hit more than 30 times during a mission.

Simply complete a level and don't get hit more than 30 times. Make sure to count how many times you are hit and if you think you've failed before the end, restart te level. This is done easiest on the first level at Saint Lo, just keep your head down and shoot occasionally to help your teammates (who will help out a lot) keep the enemy at bay. You can do this on any difficulty, but obviously its easier on Easy. You can also get the "Still Ticking" and "Conservationist" achievements on this level.



Conservationist 20
Complete a mission using less than 300 rounds of ammunition.

Simply complete a level without firing more than 300 rounds. This is done easiest on the first level at Saint Lo, where you can rely on your comrades a lot, and then use a rifle as opposed to an automatic weapon as it will use up less ammunition. You can do this on any difficulty, but obviously its easier on Easy. You can also get the "Still Ticking" and "Allergic to Bullets" achievements on this level.



Close Quarter Combatant 100
Complete a mission without firing a round. Player can make use of melee attacks and hand grenades.

Try getting this on the second level, 'The Island'. Use the butt of a rifle as it takes out the enemy with one hit, and make use of hand grenades when there is more than one enemy to take down.You can do this on any difficulty, but obviously its easier on Easy.

Grizzled Veteran 150
Complete the Single Player Campaign on Veteran difficulty.

Some Tips that may help :

* Good use of smoke grenades is a vital part of the game, use them well and in the right places and it will make this a hell of a lot easier. Remember not to waste them though, as smoke grenades are not in plentiful supply.

* Move slowly but steadily. Always aim Center Mass, forget about Headshots. Don't underestimate your enemies or you'll die. When there are fixed machine guns, use grenades and smoke grenades. They will save you.

* Always stay behind cover - try not to get stranded in the open or the enemy will often take you down. When reloading always do it behind cover as getting caught mid-reload will often end up with you dying.

* Always make good use of your fellow comrades. They will often be a great help and take out a number of enemies for you. They will not do all the fighting for you and you will be kept very busy, but staying behind while your fellow country men storm a house will often save you dying instead.

* When you get shot, as soon as the screen flashes and judders, get to cover as quickly as possible. This flashing screen means if you're shot again you will die. Stay in cover until the screen returns to normal.

* Always keep a careful eye on the grenade indicator, as soon as it pops up, be somewhere else. Alternatively, you can try throwing the grenade back at the enemy.

* Choose your weapons carefully, when fighting in close proximity to the enemy an automatic weapon is always the best choice. A rifle is the best choice for the enemies at long range. Be sure to carry one machine gun and one mid to long range rifle at all times.

* When clearing houses of the enemy, grenades are the weapon of choice. Remember they will bounce off walls if you want to clear the enemies around corners without the risk of being shot.

* If your stuck on a certain mission for a long time, try a different strategy, head a different way, or try something different to what you have been doing previously. Different strategies will work for different people and there a various ways around many of the obstacles.

Multiplayer Achievements

Supply Officer 15
Supply ammunition to at least 20 friendly soldiers in a single ranked match. (Multiplayer)

Choose to be the Support or Anti-Tank class during a ranked multiplayer match, and follow different teammates, dropping ammo crates in front of them with 'RB'. Since your have infinite supplies, drop them near the road of your spawn and eventually they will be picked up by teammates. Take advantage of prone teammates and drop off more.

Doc 30
Revive 10 of your teammates in a ranked match without getting a teamkill. (Multiplayer)

Choose to be the Medic class during a ranked multiplayer match, and follow different teammates, healing them with 'RB' as soon as the drop. In Headquarters and Capture the Flag, your team have a 20 second respawn time giving you plenty of time to reach them. Let them know that you're coming to save them, and make sure not to kill any teammates during the game. If there are more than two medics on your team, try another game because you will lose that match.



A War Hero 30
Capture the final objective in the game mode War. Must be a ranked match. (Multiplayer)

In a ranked multiplayer match in the game mode 'War', be on your toes and make sure to be at the final flag and win the game. Keep trying if you don't get it first time, if it's a large game you could try staying at the final flag so that when the time comes to take it you're the first there.



Victory Medal 30
Be the player with the highest score and on the winning team in a ranked match. (Multiplayer)

In a ranked multiplayer match, make sure to be the best player on the winning team. You can check the scores ingame by pressing 'Back'. Stick to your favourite classes and take down as many of the enemy as possible. In objective games, make sure to be the one that scores the flag or secures the HQ, for example. Don't teamkill, as a punishment takes points away from you.



Lieutenant 20
Receive 200 total points in ranked matches. (Multiplayer)

See "General"



Captain 40
Receive 2000 total points in ranked matches. (Multiplayer)

Major 60
Receive 8000 total points in ranked matches. (Multiplayer)

Colonel 80
Receive 20000 total points in ranked matches. (Multiplayer)

To get these achievements you'll have to play a lot of ranked multiplayer matches. Score as many points as you can each game to get these faster. You can check the scores ingame by pressing 'Back'. Take down as many of the enemy as possible. In objective games, make sure to be the one that scores the flag or secures the HQ, for example.

Know your maps and objectives. Depending on which map and game type, use a medic for the revival point. You could use a tank and defend your base. It takes a while to learn the maps, but once you do you should know how to get the most points possible. Don't teamkill, as a punishment takes points away from you.

You can view your current points by going to 'Leaderboards' and then 'Global Leaderboard'. If you have played ranked matches then the first page that comes up will show your rank. The star indicates your points, and you can press 'A' to view more detailed statistics.


Secret Achievements

*
Purple Heart 5
For perserverence despite grevious injuries.

To get this achievement, you have to have died 20 or more times during the course of your single player campaign. If you want it quickly, you could run at the enemy on Veteran difficulty just after a checkpoint and do this 20 times, then finish the level.



Big Air 25
EXTREME! Found a big jump and caught some air!

You can get this in the first British mission, where you first drive a jeep. At one point you will have to avoid a tank, and there is a field with a ramp positioned on a fence. Line yourself up and get plenty of speed up then jump it. You should get the achievement when you land.

I believe the veteran one doesn't work when you do chapter select, other than that getting your specific gun ones should work in chapter select.

You don't even need to finish the level. I suggest instead of wasting your time, play through Veteran. Unless you are perfect, you'll die 20 times in a level and get it.

I've found that yes grenades don't count for this acheivement and that the only assault weapons that works for it are the ones you start with in missions (aka. BAR and the Sten).

I just now got the achievement, and I can confirm some of this. I used the Bren you start with on Chapter 5. At one point during the mission, you have to use a Panzershrek to kill a tank. This does not stop you from getting the achievement. Towards the end of the level, I used two smoke grenades, and I still got it. Smoke grenades do not stop you from getting the achievement.

Great guide, very helpful. Wasn't exactly sure which weapons counted for the assault rifle and german weapons one. Man is veteran a bitch though, I tell you what. That one dude was right, Treyarch does suck, IW takes them to school when it comes to gameplay and all around experience. This game is damn near impossible on veteran, and the idiot AI that you have to deal with is ridiculous. The infinite enemy spawns don't make things any easier that's for sure.

I know this is an old game but whatever. I am fininshing up the easy achievements and after Close Quarter Combatant on the Island you can reload the last checkpoint and get Assault Trooper by using the BAR. It just saves some time I guess.

You can also get Battlefield Scavenger & Rifleman using this method.

Vetrean Tip: When you aim down the sight, it auto-aims the enemy. Usually, this is your time to shoot. That way, you can kill enemies through bushes

Yeah, I noticed that. When you shoot, aim. Look at an enemy and it auto-aims towards the enemy. For moving targets, you'll have to actually aim a bit.

you get it automateclly and you are supposed to go very fast and take a ramp when you land you get the achievement.

Find a wall at the beginning of a level where you start off with 5 grenades. Simply throw them at the wall and bounce it back toward yourself. It's a lot easier than throwing them on the ground and running after them.

I actually found a quicker and easier way to get Hot Potato. During the training part at the beginning, once you get grenades look to your left towards the road where there are tanks and platoons driving/running by. Back up all the way throw a grenade at the ground in front of you then run up and throw it again towards the road. You have infinite grenades during this part so you just need to do it 5 times for a quick easy achievement.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but how can you tell which is the first British Mission? I'm looking to unlock the Assault Rifle Achievement and Battlefield Scavenger Achievement, but do not know which mission is the first British one. Any help is welcome, thanks.

Once you've beaten the game, I believe you can choose which people you want to play for. I don't quite remember, and to be honost I don't feel like putting in my CoDIII disc.

But yeah, I think that's how it goes, so just try that.
