Red River is the OFP team saying to hell with that, we want to be more appealing to the CoD and Battlefield crowd. Now why on Earth would a developer want to be like games that sell millions, just on their midnight release?
Just because a game sells well and is very mainstream does not mean that it is bad. Don't be one of those people.
