XxFrAsZeRxX
I prefer my RPG achievements to require more trickery and work than what ME2 offers up. In short the achievements in ME2 are more about being thorough and taking your time, rather than making the right decisions. There's essentially no "wrong" way to do anything that will cost you your achievement, which pisses me off. I like to have to really dig in to the dialogue and make the right choices in order to come away with the big rewards. I thought the achievements were extremely easy. They're all straight forward, and essentially laid out before you. The loyalty missions are announced that they're available when you go to the map, not to mention they outright ask you for help (no digging necessary) if you talk to them when it's finally up. Not to mention that there's no hidden characters, or difficult to obtain characters in the game either. Every character is offered up on a platter. The one and only thing they don't hold your hand through the entire damn time is the Paramour achievement, and even that is essentially a no brainer: kiss their ass and you win their love...strange...lol. It was a really enjoyable game without a doubt. But as far as achievements go...err...5 out of 10 in terms of quality, 4/10 for difficulty. Yeah this game was pretty straight forward in terms of achievements, wish it was less straight forward, but it was still fun to get them, and i'm almost done with insanity which isn't as hard as anticipated . tenzor
I am playing on insanity right now, but wanted to know if I could just do the recruit missions then do the main missions (IFF, Horizon, Omega), and just completely ignore all the loyalty missions. Insanity is already a pain, and I would like to play as less as possible and just rush to the end of the game to get the achievement. I already did a full play through on normal, so this is just to get the insanity achievement for those wondering why I would want to do this. I know everyone will probably die, but I wouldn't plan on using this game save for Mass Effect 3 anyway so I could care less.

RickyMcG
Hey. Not been a post in here for a few days, I'm just looking for some general advice. I have just recruited the final squad member in my journal, the Krogan and the Illusive Man has requested a meeting. I know I have to recruit a few others. Now I only have Zaheeds loyalty mission and no others. I have been talking to everyone after each main storyline quest. I'd just like to know: 1) Will I get any other loyalty missions soon? 2) When is the point of no return on this game, (ex, need to do all loyalty missions/buy all upgrades) before I carry on. I have only been concentrating on a few upgrades. I havn't bought any Normandy upgrades as of yet. Thanks, keep it as spoiler-free as possible please. I just want to max as much GS as I can during this playthrough. Edited February 7, 2010 by RickyMcG

Keep in mind, that to to activate loyalty missions, you need to talk to your squadmates few times, but I'm sure you already knew that. 2)I'm not done with the game yet, but as far as I know point of no return is mission where you have to get IFF, or something like that. In theory, you can still do missions after this, but you don't want to. Its hard to explain without spoilers. Firvagor
1) Will I get any other loyalty missions soon? As you complete missions Kelly will say "so-and-so wants to talk to you" and you'll get a new entry in your journal. Side missions can also trigger this. Chatting with them helps towards this, too, but selecting the "let's chat" option won't initiate a loyalty mission; when someone's ready he'll mention it when you first talk to him, in case you missed the tip via the journal entry and Kelly's notice. As a side note, it would be nice if they fixed the 0/30 Power Gamer bug, just so people don't get confused and think it's not working.

Anyway, to both of you thanks for your help, much appreciated. I currently have three loyalty missions, and I will do them before recruiting the other people the Illusive Man has requested. I have been speaking to members after every main plot so I probably won't miss them, I just wanted to make sure. May as well clear them as I get them. Lord Montymort
Hey. So I have started my second playthrough today to get the last 4 achievements (and enjoy the game again) I need the lv 30 achievement and Insanity achievements but there not why im here, I also need the Warp Specialist and Incineration Specialist and im just wanting to check if the Ammo versions count (mostly for Waro as I already expect Incineration Ammo to count) towards them or if it's only Power versions that count? RenegadeFlanker
is it possible to get all the acheivements in 1 playthrough?
esio gk
Yes, it is possible, but 1) you have to import character from ME1 2) you have to play on Insanity difficulty 3) you have to complete all main quests and all assignments ( to get to level 30)
RickyMcG
I'm back, confused and in need of some help in which general direction I should go now. I have now started on the second disc of this game, and have completed two loyalty missions (Zaeed - DLC and Jacob). I have the second set of dossiers to recruit the final squad members, but I also have almost all of my current squads loyalty missions, bar the ones that still need recruiting. This was because of side-quests I completed, I never managed to activate any through direct conversation. Now should I do ALL of the loyalty missions available now before going to recruit the final squad members, or should I do the opposite and recruit my final squad members first? Will recruiting my remaining squad members send me down a one-way alley toward the games finale? I ask this as I would like "No-one left behind" this playthrough, and havn't upgraded the ship/characters. Any help will be massively appreciated. I like earning as much gamerscore as possible in my first playthrough..Saves me multiple playthroughs.

After you get two of them (or one of them, if you recruited Zaeed, which you did), you get unavoidable mission. After compleating that mission, you get another one called "Get IFF" or something like that - I dont remember the name. This mission is point of no return. Back to your question - do whatever you want, just make sure, you get all loyalty missions and Normandy upgrades before doing "Get IFF" mission. Hope that helps. Will Daniels
Just wanted to add my experience with the Tactician achievement. THis was giving me alot of problems, and I read the various solutions that people had used. Well, what worked for me was to start a game as a Sentinel (don't have to, but I used the throw skill). When you get to the point you meet Jacob, you can have him use pull, then immediately use throw on the same enemy. They have to already be floating for your throw to work. I don't think it has to kill them either. Likewise, you can use the same tactic in the next room when you are behind the crates. But the best is if you save right before the largest room at the end of the level. There will be 8 or so Loki's there. You can always reload the save and continue to farm it out. Like I said, I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but this was waaaaay easier, and it worked every time.
CHAPPY62105
i dont know if anyone can help me with this achievement but i tried three times to get it and i am playing the suicide mission by the book. WaltJay
i dont know if anyone can help me with this achievement but i tried three times to get it and i am playing the suicide mission by the book. The No One Left Behind achievement. Is there a particular character(s) that keeps dying? I followed the guide and am playing on Casual, and somehow at the end, it showed that Mordin died. So I restarted the level and had Mordin (instead of Jacob) do the escort part, which he survived thankfully. And in the end, no one died and I got the achievement. I'm not sure what determines if a non-controlled character lives or dies, other than loyalty. Everyone was loyal to me, yet somehow Mordin died, so there has to be another factor. I was wanting to know the answer to this question too. Playing on my Insanity run and I want to build my squad more and get all the upgrades possible before going to the IFF mission. I was worried it would force me to go to the IFF mission like the Collector ship mission did.
jkthunder
Also, remember that in addition to getting all loyalty missions and Normandy upgrades (you don't need probe capacity or the med bay though), make sure you max out Paragon or Renegade to 100%. Without that last part, you will lose the loyalties you worked so hard to acquire, and it will make the NOLB achievement much easier on you
Munkapotatoes
I am quite frankly AMAZED that people are having problems with NLB achievement. Make people play to their strengths. For tech, you should use the LIVING PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY (or would it be pieces since there are thousands of minds?), for biotics, use the person who went HULK SMASH on the walls of a prison station. For escort, use a hired mercenary. And why would you NOT do a loyalty mission? they're short, worth decent cash, and make the person more useful with their extra ability ('cept F'ing grunt cuz he glitches out and doesn't get his ability every time). svonhershman
The achievement I had the most problems with was the Brawler achievement. Playing as a Sentinel just made this annoying. Had to snipe people in the face at close range haha. Also, the weapon specialist one seems kinda of odd as you need to just get lucky and hope you find all the upgrades. I'm a happy owner of 1015G though
