The Darkness 2 DLC Cancelled by 2K Games
 

Sucks, I really enjoyed the game.

According to Digital Extremes (The developers behind the Darkness II) when asked about The Darkness 2 possible DLC:Unfortunately 2K decided against the DLC option for Darkness 2.

The Darkness 2 was among the top shooters of the 2012, with the special quad-wielding feature which had never seen before in any other game. The game was mainly single player but it also did offer a 4 Player co-op Multiplayer with a separate story of its own. After asking around apparently there was a possibility that the planned-but-cancelled DLCs for Darkness 2 were going to continue where the story left off, there was also plans for additional bonus content such as new weapons and darkness relics. However none of those were ever confirmed to the planning phase, they were thrown out when 2K didn’t saw necessary for it to continue since the total sales for the game were below 1 Million copies for all three platforms (PC, PS3 and X360).

According to Video Game Charts (above table), The Darkness 2 sold a total of 540,000 copies which is below the expected 1 Million and hence it was financially unacceptable for 2K to spend anymore money on making DLC for the game. The release of Borderlands 2 also contributed to that matter since as one of 2K game’s most successful titles it needed heavy funding for the announced 6 DLCs that were planned for the game.
Although there wont be any DLCs made for Darkness 2, there are still some plans in regards to making a Darkness 3, however at the moment this is only a rumor and no official source has confirmed its validity, but at the same time it hasn’t been denied either.

yeah the game came out 11 months ago.. going on 12 soon.. after that long you can pretty much tell DLC is a no show.. Heck, even 3 months is enough to see..

They released RAGE DLC last month, it's been out for over a year.
They also released Doritos Crash Course DLC last month after 2 years.

There is no way to calculate when and if DLC will come out for a game.

You know, 540,000 isn't even that bad... For an underrated and overlooked series, that's pretty decent!

Can we get some sort of petition or something going, I'm sure if the fans stand up and unite (sounds corny but true) we could eventually get some real good DLC made and released.
If enough people bring it to 2K's attention, It could happen!

I always keep hold of games that I've enjoyed the campaign and Darkness 1 & 2 are still in my collection

It wouldn't bother me either way. I wouldn't mind playing it again, but at the same time I have all these other games in my backlog I'm trying to work through. Not to mention there are loads of games coming out that I want to actually play for fun.

Guess I'll just hold on to my copy and hope for the best.

Got done watching a friend play it and was hoping for more darkness.
