How many discs
 

Just wondering while looking at some screenshots. The graphics look amazing and watching the trailer it just looks sooooo good. Wonder how many discs it will come on.

Well it's no L.A. Noire, so there definitely won't be 3 discs.

I'm sure it will all be on a single disc, just like GTA IV.

There is a chance they do it on 2 disks. One for singleplayer and one of multiplayer. But it depends on many things so no one can say for sure...

I wouldn't mind if it was 2 disks, that would mean just longer and/or really detailed

One disc for a massive single player and a second disc for multiplayer. One can only hope! I say games should be done like this anyways because to me they have to chop down SP when they add multiplayer to a game. Separating them on disc's would help.

GTA IV had both massive SP and MP and it all cam nicelye on a single disc, probably the same here. Graphics don#t take up a second disc especially if the game is coming out on the current consoles.

Say there's 3 major islands, id love to see 1 disc per island. Jam pack it full of amazingness and what not. Plus another disc separate for multiplayer.
If the story is rumored to take 25 hours there could also be the need for an extra disc considering how much dialogue there is, the amount of radio stations and how long they go for before repeating etc.


2-3 discs would be a winner. Just so you can tell its gonna be huge without even playing it yet. :p

I will say 2 discs.

I see there being 2 discs but still one for single player. Sure it's massive but look how massive Skyrim is in and out and that's only like 4.6GB and I believe you can fit 7 or 8 GB'S on one disc. What I'm getting at tho is with the option to switch from all 3 characters I can't imagine having more than one disc for single player. I didn't mind it for L.A. Noire because it was for the missions so maybe they could do the same mission wise for GTA V but let you still travel all over on one disc. Still hope multiplayer is on a separate disc.

Despite everything, my best guess is it's gonna be the standard SP/MP disc like it should be. I just hope the city is as detailed as it's size.

I think there might be a chance that you'll be able to play everything from 1 disc, but will have to download content from multiple discs.

Yeah, now I would say two discs. One for single player and the the other for online modes.

If there are multiple disks, I hope we can just install them and play off of one. I don't like having to stop my gameplay and switch disks.

Shoot they could give me 10 discs and I would still be down with it. I'm stoked. :p

7 disc's lulz who cares really. It is what it is dont like buy it on PS3 thats what im doing, then ill probably get it again on 360....

Its pretty much the norm these days, they would be severely backtracking any progress and just being plain lazy if you couldn't install the disks.

I really hope so too. In saying that, I hope they bring in more uniqueness with each building. The generic standard layout in every apartment complex in GTA IV got boring.

Skyrim is pretty simple when you think about it. Each area that is populated is loaded separately; Cities, dungeons, caves etc. GTA on the other hand is completely open. Being able to walk into a building or drive over to another island and have it load almost seamlessly.

Also the only major detail in Skyrim goes into the loading areas I just mentioned. Everything outside in "the world" or w/e you want to call it is just basic floor terrain with trees and rocks scattered. GTA is always busy with cars and people everywhere.

It all comes down to processing power though, no matter how many discs you chuck at it. If they can surprise me with a game that's amazing as what ive seen in screenshots & trailers I couldn't care less if it was 1 or 10 discs. Or even a 500mb download off live.

Same, I thought that was annoying for Max Payne 3.

I'd say at least 2 discs but can easily see 3 discs: based on Rockstar's latest game Max Payne 3 which uses the RAGE engine too.

I liked the tour guide book they did for Vice City, wonder if V will have something similar for Los Santos.

And I thought Liberty City was huge. If they pay close attention to details just as much as they did with GTA IV, I don't think it's going to fit in a single disc... Not that I care, either. Make a big one, Rockstar! :D

Not with IV. The back side was a subway map.

I think it's safe to say it's going to be at least 2 discs.

The PC version got 2 posters one for the retail with Niko and his friends on it and and other for the DLC with some females.

No more then two discs and it will be convenient.
